I can tell you that a custom five-shot 629 is a beautiful and mighty interesting thing! Everyone in attendance was swooning over it.

Well the Weigand base arrived and I just installed it. Pretty easy using the YouTube instructions. Had to grind down the sight screw a bit as it was protruding into the cylinder window. Ultra dot should be here Election Day.

I found the green fiber optic front with a Bowen rear worked great for me. But I'm intrigued with the red dots now that they are so small. Now I have a Bowen rear for my Lipseys .480 bisley super Blackhawk !:-) still waiting for the bowen I ordered in April.

LOTS of meat on the ground,,, and I'm sure the butchers appreciate all the work!
Nice going to ALL who participated. a GREAT way to see just how a bullet (and calibers,) actually perform in real life applications.

Was the 475 spec M629 hunted or a back-up ? Other back-ups carried by the gang ?

Gotta admit a 475spec M629 intrigues me at least as much as a 480 Alaskan. Somebody owes us some details. A new thread please Whitworth.

What's the difference between a .475 special and .480 Ruger?

What's the difference between a .475 special and .480 Ruger? Shorter case and less pressure.
