Oh and, plenty of good lookin loooooong range plinkers in here too! Thnx BigBore44 At the risk of hi-jacking this thread...my truck is a '64 GMC "Carryall" (Suburban) 4x4 with it's original running gear, and huge GMC 305" V6. It is a torque monster when put in "granny low". Here is another picture of it up in the hills of AZ:

How much does it cost every time you pull the trigger? Which one? The 50s? Varies. You can buy factory ammo pretty reasonable if you look around for standard military loaded stuff. The specialty bullets like Lee just showed, not so cheap. The 375 ST above is about 6.50-7.00 a round for the fireform loads if you use factory 375 Cheytac. You can load cheaper... Sometimes you can find deals on components for the 50..... Ronnie

As Zeus noted, 50 BMG cost per round varies. I only reload and can't speak to factory rolled. Component breakdown, including Hazmat averages: 1) CCI 35 primers = $0.40 2) 8 lbs of commercial powder = $200 shipped. My typical load burns 225 grains. That puts fuel cost at $0.80/shot 3) Pulled surplus bullets = $0.60 4) Premium bullets, like Hornady AMAXs, Barnes Bore Riders, or Lehigh solids = $2.10 per So if you shoot military leftovers it's $1.80 each. Match grade bullets raise it to $3.30. And while we've shot a fair amount of surplus powder, I'm done with the stuff. I'll pay a little more and avoid the wide lot-to-lot variation and poor shelf life. But there's one exception - we've had good luck with IMR's old 5010. Dad paid $30 a jug for 5010 in the early 90's and it still shoots fine. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

Sorry I haven't been able to contribute Glenn. Let me see if I can make up for it. 6mm BR, 1:14" twist barrel by Dan Dowling. Tubb brake, Timney Calvin Elite. Feeds from modified 223 AI magazine flawlessly. Load is a 55 grain NBT @3920 fps.

One of my 3 .223 AI rifles. 27" spiral fluted barrel twisted 1:8". Federal Factory GMM 80 grain bullet. Unlucky cottontail I mistook for a Jack for the mirage. A little less than 500 yards.

Standard 22-250 chamber on a Hart 22" 1/9" barrel. Built to push the 75 A Max @3350 fps. Valdada straight 16x, Jet suppressor, HS bottom metal. 7.2 mils to 1000 yds. First time we had this rifle out we underestimated the trajectory and wind resistance. Thus, first shot high left. Wind was about 25 mph that day. Derek gave me correction and 2nd shot landed center. Derek said "that's it, try for the head"... g
