Nothing fancy like these, just a custom 700 with a Shilen barrel, Jewell trigger and a Leupold scope.

..nothing custom or fancy but all have been great shooters... Remington 700 LTR .308 with Shepherd 3.5-10x40mm scope... Typical targets... Same rig I made up for a friend... 800 yards...first three shots.. He had misjudged the wind and the rounds were hitting right where he was aiming. On the 4th shot he held off just a little less...vertical dispersion for the 4 shots is less than 1"... Had a matching gun in .223.... SAKO TRG .308 with 16X IOR Valdada scope... My best group ever at 800... Bob

Hey bud, mark your calendar Sept.10 at mill creek, mid range F class, 500 yards. Dunno the other details. Jeff Let me know. Wonder if my standard LR rifles are ok? I don't know the rules on that game.

Well I have these two. The one on the left is a Remington action. GA Percision out of KC MO did all the work on it. It is in 260 Rem. Bell and Carlson M40 stock with a Sightron SIII 6x24x50 scope. The other is a Remington SPS Varmint in 308 with a Leupold Mark 4 4.5x14x40 scope. HS stock, CDI bottom metal. I had the barrel cut down 4 inches on it. I don't get to shoot them as much as I want to.

Had a 6.5-284 and a 6.5 STW built on some 700 actions with #8 contour Douglas barrels quite a while back. Barrels didn't look that big until you out them next to a stock Remington heavy barrel rifle. Got out of the long range rifle groove and never looked back... Make mine a pistol.

First is GA 338, second is a build by Alan Warner. Defiance Rebel 308 with a 20" fluted Krieger in a KMW Sentinel. Third is a Tactical Rifles (local) M40A1-5 308. Scopes are Nightforce, Valdada, Valdada. Target from 338. Gun is zeroed at 300. LUCKED out on the recipe.

Zeus, Sure would like to hear the specs on your 6.5, especially the scope & mount. 1850 yds. is pretty doggone awesome. I know what you mean about shooting at a higher elevation helping the cartridge out, but that's still a helluva poke. My software says it needed about an 85 moa correction from a 100 zero at 5000' altitude. Am I close?
Also.. what did you use for a rangefinder. My Swarovski works well but at that distance the smallest object it will range is a barn.

I have a Terrapin that I use from Vectronix for a rangefinder. It's pretty incredible. The 6.5 is a build from Apache Machine in NC. Kreiger barrel, Stiller action, rifle Basix trigger, 5-25 S&B PMII for glass. All of my S&Bs are DT CCW set ups as well. It's the brown one up front. I'll find better pics of it. On the GA Precision subject, I have a M24 from those guys and a 338 Lapua. Both are incredibly accurate. My 338 routinely shoots under .1 at 100 yards with the 300 Berger. I think the largest group I have shot was high .3s. I run 91 grains of H1000 in that one. Same S&B scope on it. I think this pic has a USO though I'll find some pics of some of the others. The M24 from GAP is a standard M24 build with a few changes like a badger handle and a Jewell trigger. It has a standard MK4 10X with TMR reticle. Neat combination but is a shooter for sure. First three groups with the 185 Juggernaught were between .2-.4 with the .4 having 4 of the five rounds in .2 as well. Their guns will just flat shoot!!

Only have one built for long range accuracy and not even a picture of it. Model 700 action converted to single shot, fully blue printed by Rick Jamison's nephew who did the work for his blue print article in ST years ago. Double sleeved bolt with all the normal lapping, trued up surfaces, Pacnor match stainless barrel, Jewel trigger, Holland recoil lug and custom machined bolt handle in a one off fiberglass stock. A friend borrowed it for Hollands Long Range shooting class earlier this year and I guess it was scary at ringing the 800 yard targets in the hills. Oh ya, it is a 7mm-08.

A friend of mine showed up at my place some time back with a Terrapin, hadn't seen or heard of one before that, and wont forget it now. It seemed to return off of anything you pointed it at out to 2500m, that thing is by far the best i've had the opertunity to use.

That 6.5 is an amazing gun. I shot the gun in January with my dad checking zero before he and I hunted. Shot four rounds off the bipod and the bed topper of the truck. When you take the diameter of the .264 out of edge to edge size of the group, it came to .0145". That's the best I've shot with it but it never shoots over the .2 range as long as I'm paying attention. I'll post pics of a few more in a bit. The most recent one Steve finished for me is a 375 SnipeTac and he's currently got a 223 build going that will use the usual Kreiger barrel but with a KMW Sentinel stock like the one pictured above in Squawberry mans pic. Yes the Terrapin is nice. I've seen them range much further than 2500 of conditions are right but how often do you really need to do that right?
