Ok, I think I might have a clue but have to ask. Most cans I see nowadays are wrapped with a soft or flexible material. What few suppressors I have fired seemed to have klinking sound when used. Is that it? The cloth used to further muffle the sound? Or, to combat mirage? Or... They are to prevent heat waves from turning your 3500 Schmidt and Bender into a 35 dollar el cheapo brand scope like Dur says above. They also help keep you from scorching your hands if you happen to touch it before it's cool enough to handle. So how do you divert mirage causing heat between the objective and the wrapped suppressor? -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

Some vertical blinds work perfect for that.

Pretty sure if you attached that sticky velcro thing to the suppressor it would melt it right off. So, you would have to dangle that slat over the suppressor. I'm sure it would help, and believe me, anything would help, but I haven't tried it to say for sure.

Not suggesting you'd run it over the suppressor. Cut it to stop right before the rear edge. -Lee www.singleactions.com "Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

Grew up down there but never heard of Wells Rifles. How long have they been around and how do the rifles shoot?

Grew up down there but never heard of Wells Rifles. How long have they been around and how do the rifles shoot? Mr. Robert Wells was in business for over 60 years. One of his sons now runs the shop with another gentleman that they trained. Every rifle I own that they have built for me has been 1/2 moa or better for 5 shots out to 600 yards which is the longest distance I had available to me.

I knew a Wells that was a coach but I don't know if they are from the same family. He was up northwest of Starkville. Nice rigs buddy!
