I shot my rsb 480 one time and then it came unglued.blew rear sight off but the elevation screw did 't move cracked the cylinder and bulged the top strap. 13 grains of HS-6 under a Montana bullets 420 grain hard cast. Hopefully that was all that was hurt, everything is still intact and functional body wise I take it.

No wasn't hurt but discovered one a bad day I had set my scale and powder measure to 23 grains I destroyed a .44 Mountain gun with what was most likely a double charge of HS6. Glad no damage done to your person. You can always acquire a new sidearm. Hands and fingers, not so much.

Aaahh, accidental over charge. Was discussing IMR4227 and HS-6 use in Ruger 480's on another thread here. Am glad you walked away. Horse is already outta the barn and you know what went wrong. So, again, welcome to forum ! Also, thank you sharing. A reminder to us all. Heading to the basement and out back with a BSBH 480 in a few minutes myself.

It would be interesting to see that load ran and the estimated pressure.

Shot the Andy Horvath S&W Model 28 converted to 41 Special. Fun gun to shoot! Thanks again Robb! Old picture, ran out of daylight for taking any new ones! Tim

...looks like the MP Molds 265 TruShot clone HP...
Got to shoot three .38 Supers today that had 9mm barrels fitted to them...
1956 Commander with BoMar sights
70s vintage Colt Combat Commander/Caspian upper
Dan Wesson Pointman/Colt Combat Elite upper
The 56 put 9/10 in a 3" group offhand at 20 yards. 70s CC ran 100% but has an XS BigDot front and wide U rear that isn't real conducive to fine sight pictures...
The Pointman needs work...the FP bullets were getting stuck at the juncture of the feed ramp and barrel ramp...so back to the smith it will go..

No wasn't hurt but discovered one a bad day I had set my scale and powder measure to 23 grains I am not perfect either. I lament the passing of your weapon but glad you are ok. Pride will heal. Proud of you for admitting what happened. That is the best way to learn is be honest with yourself.
