.17 Remington! Now that's a blast from the past. Haven't shot one of those in almost forty years.

John what stock do you have on your 700?

It's a ripper. Zero recoil laser beam. Light striker assembly and Trigger Tech trigger set at a pound.
Rifle started life as a factory 700 LTR in 308. HS Precision made the stocks for those rifles, lightweight and solid with the metal inletting block that extends into the forend.

What were you shooting at sir? Today was a great day because my 8 year old (9 on 7/20) wanted to shoot. It's the first time he's instigated it. So I got Lucas' Chipmunk (70's vintage, checkered with good blueing and wood), a 61 LR, and my Clements 6 1/2" Bearcat. Many years ago I found two of the Chipmunks. Lucas was ready for his at six, Levi will get his in less than two months. I think the Winchester 61 is the most handsome rifle ever made even though I'm a fan of falling blocks for their lines.

We've been getting a bit of rain. I saw fresh sign near my goat pens, and as I got home from morning errands I heard a young bastard yelping in the draw to the east.
I sat there for about 45 minutes with a reed mouth call and called it quits so that I could get to some chores.
Before I got up to get busy I moved some rocks around at 200 to 300 yards to confirm the good zero.
I really like the 17 Remington, and that rifle is a magic wand.

How’s your experience been with the light striker assembly?
