Gota make em before you can shoot em,,, 140 grain large HP, and 145 grain penta HP plain base, casting 2 of each with 2 alloys, 1 for pocket 38's in pure lead with .2% pure tin Bullion, and then a 50/50 co so mix with .2% pure tin bullion added for around 1000 to 1100 fps 38+p loads,, be doing some accuracy testing next, but the pure lead loads with bullseye were not clocked, the 50/50 was over 900 fps, fired in mortar sand, it's the best I had at the time. I think they will work good on tissue of small varmints and game, as well for 2 legged varmint's?? we'll see how they shoot now that temps are bearable again! All were large HP, the 231 was the 50/50 load, it opened as well as the bullsey load just didn't fold back as far, all retained 100% of their weight

Installed a Night Hawk main spring housing/mag well and oversized EGW firing pin on my 460 Rowland/Clark Delta Elite. Took the 460 and the 2.75" M69 to the range and shot some steel. Moderate .460 loads of 230gr JRN at 1,150 fps. Gun shoots high, but still managed to have a good session. Am amazed at the moderate recoil generated by the Clark/Rowland package. Only shot 15 rnds thru the M69 -- 5 ea 315gr Lee, 260gr WFNGC MT Bullet Works, and 240gr Zero JSPs. The Lee's are a bit undersized with Crayola lube and tend to lead even though gas checked. The MT Bullet Works are .432s w/gas checks and LBT blue lube -- no leading and cleaned out the little left by the Lees. Can't get enough of the little M69. Paul

New to me M&P Shield that's already costing me money. Ordered the Apex duty/carry trigger kit this evening and will probably pick up a holster this week as well. Picked it up for a very nice price a month or so ago but didn't get to the range until yesterday. Over the past week I pretty much talked myself into disliking it before I'd even fired it because "I've never liked a polymer S&W auto". I figured I'd fire a couple of mags through it, hate it and put it in my trade bait stash. The more I fired it, the less I disliked it. 2 mags turned into 4 and before I knew it I only had 2 rounds left in the box of ammo I was using so I did a slide lock reload drill just for giggles. I need to drift the rear sight but it's really in there so I may drop by the shop where I bought it and have them center it up. If it wasn't for the fact that I've already gone all in for TDA instead of strikers for CCW my CZs might be getting nervous. It might start replacing the 442 for discreet carry on occasion though. The Taurus PT-92AF that belonged to my Grandfather. He bought it from the pawn shop I worked at in the early to mid-90s. The discolored brass is what was in the mags when I inherited it a couple of years ago. It's a horse of a gun that I never really cared for due to the size but for some reason it's started feeling better and more natural to me recently. Shield and PT-92 targets Put a Weigand mount on the GP100 I did a mild trigger job on. I tried a Fastfire on it but my eyes and handgun skills were lacking when I tried to zero the Fastfire at 25yds. No problem zeroing the scope at 25yds though.

Got out for a little while tonight before dinner to shoot the 22 Hornet Contender., with 4x Burris. Factory Hornady 35 V-Max. First 3 shots shown below. This factory load just consistently shoots...box after box. Good weather, range to myself...it was a good day.

I didn't shoot it but it got shot! 999# hanging on the rail of angus/Scottish highland cross steer. My last head of cattle after 20+ years of providing healthy beef to my family and friends.

Had a Smith .357 shoot today; M19-3 & M28-2. I've been hunting a heavy mag round for the 28, moderate for the 19, and a fun double-action round for either or. Today's experiment consisted of 158gr Hornady XTPs over a heathly dose of 2400 for the mag, 158gr LSWCs over a lower dose of 2400 for moderate loads, and the same LSWC bullet over a few grains of TiteGroup for the plinker. The 28 seemed to like its load, but the 19 needs some more work. I've never been a fan of bevel based bullets like the LSWCs so I may start the adjustment there. I'll need to make some grip adjustments; a Tyler T for the 28, and service style half moon grips with a Tyler T for the 19.

Had a buddy over and shot 5 different 327's with the same ammo. (100 gr. XTP, 12.2 gr. H110). 5.5" SS 7.5" SS 5.5" BH 4.2" GP 100 4.2" SP 101 He had never fired a 327 at all, and I had never gotten around to shooting the SP 101. I was really surprised at how fun and manageable the SP was, and how well the GP shot double action. Also, shot some new ammo in my 500 Linebaugh. My Mountain Molds 445 gr. Kieth. 22 gr. 2400. My first time using 2400, believe it or not. I thought this would be a milder load, but it seemed pretty stout to me. It may be the bearing length on the boolit raising the pressure, since it is an unknown projectile. Also, my Linebaugh has a 7.5" barrel. I used the lower end loads for that approximate bullet weight from the Taffin tests page. I can't imagine shooting that boolit at 24.0 grs. I can't seem to get the proper code from Imgur to post the pic. Don't have an option for BB code. Maybe it's because I'm on my IPad. Here's a link: imgur.com/a/PMYtHs9

Well yesterday I took the 357 Bisley out to do a little 38 spcl testing with the 145 grain 358-640 HP point mold, with cast slugs from the new mold from Mihec. Nothing really great easy to get to shoot around 1 1/2" group's with straight lead as my alloy with the .2% Tin added. They hold together very well, even at 950 fps. but next I will test some cast 50/50 with the sam .2% tin added. This did well at 1000 fps with room to fold back a little more, and vey uniform expansion. But what did look very promising was my loads in 357 Starline brass. This revolver has amazed me with how well it shoots and the velocities it capable of with that 180 carbine bullet. I had an Excellent load worked up with H-110 @ 1455 fps Av., but I have always had best luck in my 357 stoked with 2400. So I took the hottest loads I could find published for the 168 170 and 180 grain bullets, some with a shorter COL than I am loading. So I loaded 4 load .5 and 1 grain under, and I took it .5 grains and 1 grain hotter, loading two cartridges of each. This last load the hottest was a real shocker, not only as it is not showing high pressure signs, it was unbelievable accurate, with speeds I would have thought only possible in 10" contender! 1542 fps with the 172 grain as cast Carbine bullet. I pulled the spent cases for both loads from the cylinder with my little fingernail, no resistance, and primers not flattened. I will load this recipe and see how it groups for a couple 6 shot strings. Also the 5.5 grains of ww-231 @ 993 fps AV showed the barrel looking like a mirror with zero leading, but a 60 fps ES? All in all, a successful evening. if I could just get those 38 spcl loads down under an 1" at 25 yards. But I think the scream'n 2400 load will easily do that!

I shot my Uberti Frisco today but nothing exciting in the way of groups...just couldn't get in a groove, it might have had something to do with the 110° temperature though!! So before it got dark I grabbed my Cimarron Model P .44 Special, lubed and checked a couple dozen 251 gr. SWCHP-GC bullets and loaded them over 8.0 grs. of Unique. Ahhhh....satisfaction at last. It's a little hard to tell in the picture, but that's 5 shots fired from a seated back rested position at 75 yds.

Today was 9mm and working on the fundamentals day. I've gotten into a bad habit of just wanting to ring the 15yd steel plates at the range so today's primary goal was to stay on the 7yd line and work on front sight focus, DA first shot from low ready and follow through. I discovered it's real easy for me to get into a groove and start outrunning my sights. Almost 500 rounds between the Shield 1.0 and a pair of Beretta 92 Compacts but there was improvement. At the end of the session I put the last 45-50 rounds through the black 92 on the 2 15yd plates and knew exactly where to hold to get a first round DA hit. It's small progress but it's progress. Railed 92 Compact I picked up about 3 weeks ago, with and without light Non-railed I picked up a week ago The original owner said he put about 3000 rounds through it and I believe it. Smooth and easy to shoot well when I take my time. I need to measure the Langdon Tactical panels, they feel thinner than the WC but I don't know if they are or if it's just my perception. Sighted in the Fastfire on the Scorpion. Still working out light placement vs my hand placement vs the handstop. No pictures of the Shield or the CMMG .22 AR conversion I put about 100 rounds through. I had to make myself stop with the conversion because I was running out of time to finish up with the Berettas. Man that thing is F-U-N!

Unfortunately I haven't been able to hit the range much this year. Though I did shoot the Area 5 USPSA match last weekend, here's some video:

Put a little over 100 through the Beretta 92 compacts, 75 or so through a new to me 3.6" version 1.0 M&P9c I traded into last week and 100 though this: Rock Island Tactical that was an impulse buy a couple of weeks ago. I found out my hands notice 100 rounds of .45 more than they used to...

Awp, I got a chance to shoot a buddy’s Skorpion the other day at the Whittington center. I was able to hit a 12” plate at 150yds easily 90% of the time, and got first round hits as well. It was a really amazing little gun,....set up similar to yours.
