Dropped this hog from 60 yards with my Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley in 480 Ruger. Load was a 410 gr. Cast Performanxe bullet over 21 gr. H 110. Bullet entered the left shoulder breaking it and the right shoulder. Failed to exit but was lodged in the thoroughly destroyed right shoulder. Hog never moved dropped and died instantly.

You'll have to shoot another, looks like the dog is claiming that one !

Well, she actually caught a shoat that was with this one. I ended up shooting it in the head for her. I'm not sure the 480 to the top of the head left it photogenic enough to put that picture up.

Congratulations, 60 yds is a very fine shot. Do you have a photo of the bullet?

When I first saw the pic. It was of the dog only. I thought you were giving her away. Guess not.............
Well mighty fine looking dog. Bet she is a great companion. Hell on hogs, too.
By the way congrats on the hog.

No, I didn't open her up. Was just out exercising the dog for the most part. I rolled her over to check for an exit wound but there wasn't one. But did check both legs to feel that they were both busted up. Wishing I had dug the bullet out now, but I didn't have a knife on me.

What do you guess the weight at ? Surprised no exit !

I figure it was probably in the range of 130-150 pounds. She wasn't particularly large. I really did expect an exit wound too. First thing I did on getting to here was flip here to see just how big it was. However, it did hit her square in the shoulders and went nearly perfectly perpendicular. So it drilled straight into the toughest part of her.

Nice work with the 480 .... but please tell me a little more about the dog!
Hearing about the hog work makes me wonder if the pup might not be from a DD kennel.

She is a DD. She's one I bred. Surprised anyone spotted that about her.
