I did that to my Isuzu with a Ford. Chrome bumpers touching, three foot jack handle connecting the reds. Keep hunting rabbits.

I was punching down some data jacks in an occupied Howard Johnson front desk one evening and a man sat there and watched me for a few and said "That is an interesting tool", referring to the punch down tool. The punch down tool is how I've made my living since August '96. That and fiber. I looked at him and aid "If you learn to use this just right you can pay the light bill". His reply was "I doubt that". Grin, grin, grin. I'll find some pics of an interesting install we did on gallery thread with some explanation of what I do, what that is, and what it supports. If you're reading this on a PC or a cell phone, this service is play SOMEwhere. I know a few nine digit framers.

When I managed a dialysis clinic we had racks of those. If we had a problem our IT people try to talk us through that spaghetti wiring to get our communications going. It was scary and sometimes frustrating. IT people and medical people don't interface well.

It looks old but the brass is Starline, so it’s not all original

This is my personal seax-knife. Back when I was doing historic demonstrations I made this knife and sheath for myself to wear at them. After a season or so we fell on hard times and I put it up for sale. It was snapped up pretty quick, and at a price that sorted our finances well enough to get us through. I hated letting it go, but we do what we have to, right? A couple months later an unexpected package showed up at my door, and to my surprise it was the seax! It was accompanied by a note explaining that a group on one of the sword enthusiast forums had pooled their money and bought it to help me out, and were presenting it to me in appreciation for my contributions to the field! I'm keeping this one forever. For those not familiar with the history 'seax' is a catch-all term for a variety of large, straight-bladed single edged knives used all across Western Europe for the better part of a thousand years. While they are mainly associated with 'vikings' these days pretty much everyone carried them across the continent. Styles and sizes varied wildly; from small utility knives to sword-length weapons, but the bulk of them were in the size range we'd associate with Bowie knives today, and they served much the same function; they were an all-purpose tool and weapon. Some of them, in fact, looked a lot like a bowie knife, though there is no historic connection; it's just that there are only so many good shapes to do a given job.

What a wonderful story! That was REALLY nice of your group to do for you. It is a beautiful blade and sheath. How long is the cutting edge?
