It's on the Gallery Of Guns sight, but not available yet. www.galleryofguns.com/genie/default.aspx?item=10596 When I read the RealGuns article, I was surprised to see MSRP quoted at $629. On GoG it lists for $832, but then, they also say is't a New Vaquero. I guess nothing is set in stone till it hits the streets.

There's a blue 44 mag 4 5/8" "old" Vaquero on gunbroker right now, just begging for a birdshead grip...

I never thought about a shoulder holster. any suggestions for an inexpensive shoulder holster to test the waters on that idea? Not too many 3.5" vaquero sized revolvers out there, so not many products available for holsters, particularly CCW type holsters, whether IWB or shoulder.

I just had a thought.
When this model came through in 45 Colt, the frame was marked "Vaquero" (not 'New Vaquero') and I understand that model was the medium frame size.
Is it absolutely confirmed this model is a large frame? I would not be surprised to learn that this is a medium frame without "new" stamped on the frame.

May have missed that one, but I won't miss out again...just got the OK from "The Boss" to order one through my LGS...sadly, I won't see it til Santa visits later in the year, but that's ok. Big project this year is getting my Poppa's Fox Sterlingworth fully restored (stocks refinished and checkering recut, receiver and barrel engraved, barrels rust blued and Turnbull CCH on receiver)... Wifey wasn't a gun gal when we married 10 years ago, but she's coming along nicely now Nice to be married to an enabler!

I thought it might help round out the family. Years back I had Hamilton build me s gun just like that, except blue with Turnbull doing the finishing. I was actually surprised at how well it shot with midrange loads. Looked good with my 44 Special birdsheads, too...an Uberti, a USFA and the RUGER Sheriff's a Model. When I got the new Ruger, my inclination was to shoot it some and pack it on back, but it's kinda changing my mind. Be neato sandblasted gray, sort of pre-distressed like a Triple-Lock Imsaw that had laid out in the desert for decades. A little Rob Leahy Magic and some Wolfe springs, and who knows what I'd have?

Sorry guys...I was going to write this one up after SHOT, especially since I had Hamilton build the the exact same gun a few years back and I have one of the .44 Special versions with a lot of round through it.
Not a good couple of weeks for gunwriters. Knee surgery the Monday after SHOT went south...am laid up in bed with machine that circulates freezing cold water around my right knee. In rigid cast and only allowed to stand "when necessary." " Necessary" apparently doesn't incle rounding up my bird's heads.
Surgeon appt Monday to see whether another surgery is necessary.Nonetheless, I gotta film. That's how I get paid. Booked range & crew for 16 Feb in an act of faith.
Prayers for Brother Jeff...
