I forgot about this thread... I'm a died-in-the-wool traditional lube/size guy. But I have a problem child Blackhawk .41 Magnum that after fire-lapping it within an inch of it's life, STILL leads. So I held my nose and with my free hand I powder coated some bullets for this revolver. The leading wasn't completely eliminated but was significantly reduced. But best of all 100 yd. accuracy was pretty good. Fired from a seated back rested position-

Cholla, I'd say there's a little bit of promise there. If you keep practicing & putting in the time someday you just might become a fair shot Actually that's some very fine iron sighted shooting buddy, well done! Dick

Not bad for a safe queen. A few more miles on that gun and it'll be dialed in

Like you I hated the red or goofy colored bullets and got some silver and some clear PC to use. The finished bullets looked like regular old lead bullets but my issue was that I would cast a batch of bullets and set the coffee can on the shelf and PC coat them later. Then after a bit I would have several coffee cans of the same bullet sitting there, some bare from the mold, some PC coated but not sized, and some ready to shoot but they all looked the same! x101Airborn on here hooked me up with some of his PC that he offers all the members, comes out a very pleasant granite gray color and works great and I know my bullet has been coated and the sizing shows just a bit on the sides. Love it, have lubed a bullet in a few years now...

I like the results of PC-ing, but having used a Star lubrisizer probably 10 years now, I find PC-ing excruciatingly slow.

Well I'm the odd ball when it comes to pc. I do pc many of my bullets now with the powder from ex101, but they all still get LBT lubed and sized in the old 450, except for the MP 360-180 carbine bullet gets an extra push through size because of its long driving band nose.
As to the 100yd challenge, I will have to get in on it.

First of all, nice ahooting. Secondly, good post. Thirdly, a little background.... For 20n years we raised beef....now hang on, I'm getting there. It wasn't a big place, 80 acres on a section line that was two 40's, end to end. It sat near the highest point in the county, which wasn't that high but, at the edge of where the western Missouri prairie and the river hill transitioned. Consequently I had two, 500+ yard ranges, depending on which pasture the cows were in. Before the oldest son entered the Marine Corps our chief delight was shooting 500 yards....with anything and everything we had. It eventually evolved to revolvers and Shiloh Sharps rifles. Even after he left home friends and I continued shooting the distance. That was 24 years ago we sold the farm. Today all I have on this hilly, woodsy 26 acres is 100 yards and that is all I'll ever get unless I hire a dozer and spend a ton of money. Anyway.... Challenge accepted. The revolver I would shoot is the FA-97 in my avatar, in 45 Colt. Lemme see if I can find the picture of the "buffalo" target(s) I made 35 years ago...and we still shoot. One is at 100 yards and the other at 50. I'll also get some paper plates and shoot for group. At 71, I don't do bad but my eyes get tired quick. Attachments:
