Many thanks to Mr. Bradshaw and others for this collection of rich, inspiring and insightful essays. This should be required reading for any aspiring handgunner. Kudos, all!

seancass.... thank you for getting this stuff where even the writer can find it. An abiding appreciation. As Lee posts the next photo essays, as he calls them, we shall pass the 100 count, which would not be possible without the gathering of serious shooters here. So you must share my appreciation with other lead slingers. David Bradshaw

Updated the original poast. What a bunch of work! Let me know if you find any errors. The titles are even more minimalist because that was a bunch of typing.
David, Let me know what corrections you'd like. I might update it myself at some point.
Edit: Also, there's some great albums in there that I forgot about! I Love my CZ 452! And I love your FA M83! Definitely going to reread those! Edit ii: Man, I hate roman numerals! It's like trying to think in a different language! And I'm not that smart!

David,
A sticky means it is at the top of the forum subsection, such as the Gun Digest Book of Ruger Revolvers: The Definitive History, and Forum rules are always at the top of the Single-Action Revolvers section, regardless of the last post in that forum. This thread needs to be tabbed just for the sake of access to the knowledge you have shared with the community.
Thank you for that by the way,
Marc

"Mr. Bradshaw whatever became of your chopped silver hornpipe??? ----Trapr *****
Trapr.... it was a mistake to cut down that KS411N âSilver Hornpipe.â For those just tuning in, revolver bigbrowndog asks about came from the first batch of stainless Super Blackhawks, which Ruger released in 1983. The .44 Mag in question set an International Revolver Record oil its first outing. A bull (untampered) 10-1/2 inch broach rifled barrel, .357 Maximum ejector assembly made in stainless steel, screwed directly to barrel (no threaded nut soldered to a countersink in barrel), Ruger screw-on .125" target front sight, with standard short 11-degree forcing cone.
After stepping away from IHMSA silhouette, I sold the revolver to an old shooting buddy, Ed Cookson. He and a nephew campaigned it a good while between Montana and Arizona. during which time another shooting bud and IHMSA icon had his hands on it, Major Golden of Tombstone. The revolver was good for 5-shot, 5-inch groups @ 200 meters Creedmoor. which Major Golden appreciated. After Cookson died I bought it back and brooded long and hard as to whether to keep it for its history, or cut down to 5-3/4 inches for interchangeability with the Ruger 03 .45 Colt.
I did not brood long enough, nor hard enough., taking the Silver Hornpipe to Mike Brazda at Bayou Teche Guns for him pull the barrel, set back the shoulder in a lathe, then trim the BARREL FACE to remove erosion. I had Brazda trim the shoulder so that the barrel would hand tighten to 10-degrees Before Top Dead Center (BTDC). Brazed trimmed the barrel to 5-3/4 inches, then drilled & tapped for a Ruger Super Redhawk sight base. Brazed also fitted a Bisley grip frame and I made grips.
Despite some groups of around an inch @ 50 yards and keeping shots in the head of Tin Man at 100 yards, my shooting wasnât as consistent as with the Ruger 03. Doubt it was the revolverâs fault. Most of my hard corps shooting with various Super Blackhawks was done with factory scales on the Dragoon grip frame. Grip compatibility is critical to consistency. The revolver was removed from service. Its absence leaves a void which I may revisit. David Bradshaw
