Ruger Blackhawk .357 Maximum 00018, with Powder Coat cast 187 WFN GC over 22/H110 in Remington brass, Rem rifle primer. Bullets made with TLC by Tank Hoover. Going in cold against thrown water jugs @ 15-degrees fahrenheit. To “engage,” water jug must cross horizon line to assure bullet goes to ground. Traditional aerial shooting involves filling the sky full of bullet holes. Fire discipline introduces background “noise,” while at once forcing the shot into a narrow window. .357 187 WFN GC, powder coated, explodes flying jug into a cloud of frozen mist as 10-1/2” barrel sweeps down in follow through. The Ruger Maximum slammed right-on from the first shot. Whether asleep or bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, a beautiful revolver. While sighting is critical, pointing is equally so. The sequence: Point, Aim, Follow Through. Sometimes you ask Did I see the sights? And the Mind just smiles. The old Dragoon grip is no slouch. 357 Maximum with Powder Coat 187 WFN GC over 22/H110 flushes another water jug. Notice, despite muzzle rise... Revolver pitches downward on follow through. Even with a light, very clean breaking trigger, gloves are a must. Unless, perhaps, you were born on the Arctic Circle. Lined deerskin gloves must fit, yet not too tight. Treated new with hot mix of mineral oil & beeswax. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

sheriff and cmh.... beaucoup thanks. The Ruger Maximum was incredibly fast. Back in the summer of 1981, tried my luck on grapefruit either Bill Ruger, Jr., or I tossed in the air. Same deal, wait for the grapefruit to drop below the knoll of the hill behind Bill, Sr.’s., house----so as to ground the slug----before cutting loose. Missed the first couple of attempts. The long barrel with Super Blackhawk grip makes up in pointing what it, ostensibly, lacks in speed. Hot Remington experimental ammo was used against those aerial grapefruit, with the gun an SRM prototype with 10-1/2” barrel. For when dueling is legalized, the Maximum is one to keep handy. Nice shooting David! Hopefully there will be another chance to shoot with you at the Fusilier Complex this coming year. I sure hated to miss the past shoot but work prevented that.

Impressed to say the very least. That is some fine demonstration of a man familiar with his gun.

I would love to see this on video! ***** alukban.... lee had video shots of live ammo leather work with Ruger 03, but was unable to post. May attempt video with camera or iPad. Typically, especially in winter, the already sketchy resolution drops even more. We’ll make a stab at it. David Bradshaw

That would be gold and will likely occupy me for hours! LOL!
Not even kidding!

alukban.... took some Christmas Morning shots----this morning----of thrown jugs with Ruger 03 and M-29 4-inch, including video M-29, which came out. Hopefully, we can get it posted. Put clothing die in the water, so it shows up against snow. A curious thing happens on frame-by-frame inspection. Providing the video posts, we’ll do a walk-through. David Bradshaw

seances.... thank you for posting the video. And thank you again for helping to make the photo essay series presentable. Think as well that Lee will appreciate it. The video opens the door to discussing this important aspect of marksmanship----important for those who may have to shoot a moving target with----not birdshot or buckshot----a bullet. David Bradshaw
