Took these pictures right after test firing my latest USFA acquisition. I didn't even clean it as the afternoon light was fading. I wanted to get a few photos while I could so please excuse the powder residue and finger prints. This is one of USFA's cavalry marked guns, done like the issue revolvers of the 1870s and 1880s. Much to my delight this gun shot to point of aim and functioned perfectly. The fact that it was a used gun and had a couple scratches and some bluing wear doesn't bother me a bit. I intend to shoot it so it's going to show some more wear as time goes by. I don't do safe queens. (smile) Dave

Wow those are nice thanks for sharing. The powder marks make it look like someone cares!

That looks like a very nice Nettleton in the inspector series. btw... By part shapes and finish, that is the USA parts inspector series. There were some early Uberti parts made that were inspector copies before they made "inspector series". One can usually tell those when you know what to look for. heres the Ainsworth Inspector version overtop a Custer Battlefield, which is the Ainsworth markings with the factory antique finish

This is a little Shop Keeper I found a few weeks ago. I later learned the seller had a second gun identical to this one and we talked and he said he would sell the second one to me for the same price but since a bid had already been made we had to let the auction run out. Unfortunately, the auction ended while I was on the plane to visit the kids in England and when I landed I found out someone had topped me by $25! Bummer! A lady had use the two guns for mounted cowboy shooting until her horse went lame. It will be going to Rob Rowen for a grip upgrade in the next week or so.

Great find there, Robb, with that shopkeeper. That's a handy barrel length and I really like the "birds head" Bisley style hammer.
I'm particularly fond of my little Birds Head grip shopkeeper in my post above. It was used at a bargain price. Just saw an identical gun a few serial numbers off of mine list in a New England store for $1900 and sold overnight. It was mint condition, but still I was happy about my deal and one I don't mind shooting.

Just FYI that even those cloth bags were made in Pennsylvania. ( not China). A company that did car seat covering, if I recall correctly on what I was told by USFA management told me, made the cloth gun bags out of remnants for USFA. Explains the variety of colors and materials through the years. Early ones were a flannel like material. Later more of a thinner cotton- not flannel. Very last were plain gray with no USFA logo.

Talked to Rob last week and this one is at his place getting new stocks. He said he has an old worm eaten hunk of junk wood he will put on it so it should be something to see here in the near future.
