Found an old box of Winchester swaged lead gas checked bullets, 240gr swc for a .44. Can't make up my mind on what to stuff em into. .44 mag or .44 spl. What do any of you gents know about these bullets?

Loaded (200) 270-SAA's that I powder coated red, per Hoover's instructions, into nickle plated Starline 454 Casull brass. My wife happened upon my creation and wanted to know what in the heck these funny looking cartridges were?!... I told her "lip stick death".
100 of them went over 11.0 grains of Unique, 50- 10.3 grains Green Dot, and 50- 10.6 grains Universal. 1.745" COL, CCI SRP.
I was trying to load to 1000 fps. All loads shot pretty darn good. I especially love loading Green Dot/Unique after each other. While they have different charge weights, the load density of the two is almost identical. You hardly even need to adjust the powder measure. Although, Universal meters easier and shoots cleaner than any of 'em.
At approximately 1000 fps (don't know for sure, do not have a chrono at this time- based my loads of Quickload data), sighting in at 25 yards, I was able to hit a 9" paper plate at 100 yards with a 4 3/4" FA 83. I am not a particularly good shot, but I was tickled to be shooting M.O.D. (Minute Of Deer)...

New 6.5x55 load development with Lapua brass, Federal Match primers, and 160 Woodleigh's, over V-N560. Temp is forecast to rise to around 0F in a day or two; looking forward to snowshoeing into the local shooting lane to see how they do! May take the .45 along to see how the new lube concoction does in the cooler temps.

Will be trying my hand at casting 400gr Lee bullets for the 480. Will be using two batches of lead. One a mix of stuff scrounged over the yrs including lubed bullets either not liked or from unknown sources. The other from my recent aquisition of "zombie lead". this from an x-ray room remodel cast off. Have 60 + lbs of it, hope it can be made use of. A pile of brass being tumbled now. Loading to follow, using Unique and Longshot. Anyone know if the zombie lead will be to the pure side of things ? If it seems too soft will try dropping them into water I guess.

1 box each of 255gr .45 Colt for my two stepsons. Boxed with really pretty "Custom Load For".... labels. A small labor of love so they wouldnt have to shoot crappy cowboy loads in their Uberti clones. Safe pressure but I bet enough to put the hurt on hogs and deer.

Just trying to keep up with my 38 Special addiction. 158 LSWC, 4.9 grains of Herco and CCI 500. Haven't chronoed the load but it shoots groups 2/3s the size of my old standby load of the same charge of Unique.
Weather breaks I'll chrono but it doesn't really matter. It's a very accurate load.

50 rounds of gentle 475 Linebaugh with 9.5 grains Unique and 395 grain LFN bullets. Had to do some grinding on the nose of the seating stem since RCBS seems to thing 475 bullets should be the same size as 44 bullets but afte a little judicious grinder work and dressing with a good file we now have a seating stem for up to WFN 475 slugs.
