Do you mean M57? I think a M59 is a bottom feeder 9mm.

Giving this a bump hoping to see some updated reports. Thinking about getting one of these. Really like the size concept.

I will try and post some pictures tomorrow. I can tell you that my trigger pull gauge will not go high enough to measure the double action pull. My sense of esthetics will not go far enough out of bounds to justify the engineering displayed in some aspects of this revolver - i.e. the ball detent on the crane. I am by no means a stranger to ball detents on revolvers, but the positioning of this one leaves me scratching my head. There are some things that will change to make this an acceptable revolver for me - a spring kit, grips, and a different front sight. After that is done I'll shoot it...

Giving this a bump hoping to see some updated reports. Thinking about getting one of these. Really like the size concept. I have two of these guns (bought one in late Jan and one in early Mar). The 2nd gun has 1,692 rounds thru it w/515 of those 265gr SWCGCs at a chronoed 1,140 fps. Have shot 834 rounds thru the first gun - 262 of those were the 240 Jhps at 1,300 fps thru 325gr WLNGCs at 1,180 fps. The guns are still as tight as they were when I got them. Mine are equipped with the Hogue 500 X Frame grips -- the bone at the base of my thumb won't allow me to use wood. I have a Bowen Rough Country rear and a couple of Dawson Precision front blades (.1" wide and .305" & .320" hi) on order. Aesthetics aside, these guns are accurate and the L Frame just works for me. FWIW, Paul

I have a PC 629 with a ball detention on the crane. I suspect that the 69 doesn't have enough meat in the area below the barrel shank to put it there.

Lots of jabbering about the ball detent on the link. Doesn't matter much to me. I held one and passed. I looked at the way my last few older S&W acquisitions are put together and have no desire to add one of these to my set. For me it isn't all the new ones. My last new one, a Pro Series 686 Plus, fits in well. For now I'll spend my few dollars on something else.

Been cleanin' up around the old homestead. Never ceases to amaze me how much junk one can accumulate over time. The older you get, the harder it becomes to clean stuff out -- bending and stooping are really uncomfortable and at the end of the day you are beat.
Hadn't been shooting for about four days do to the above "cleanin'" and was in withdrawal. Wife got home a bit early from babysitting the grand kids, so I grabbed the M69 and a sack full of 265gr SWCGCs over 17.0+gr of A2400 (they avg 1,140 fps over the chrono at 5 long paces). You know you've had a great time when you are reluctant to leave, and you say to yourself "that was really fun".
Was mostly shooting double action at one of those vertical swingers (trying to roll it over then stop it at the top and get going the other way) and falling plates all at about 15 yards.
Not trying to change anybody's mind, just saying how much I've enjoyed this gun.
FWIW,
Paul

Paul, originally I was ho hum about the 69 but I shoot plates with my old 629MG using 10 grains of Unique. Would love to try it with an L Frame 44 Mag. There has been one reported citing of the 69 in my region of Idaho and it was scooped up second day on the shelf. There will be another one come to the region within a year or two. Have to keep my eyes open and be ready to pounce on it.

So far, I like mine a lot. I've found that I can conceal-carry it in a homemade under-the-shirt vertical shoulder holster ... the grip protrudes about an inch more than my 1911 does, and that creates more of a bulge in my shirt (just beyond the edge of my left shirt pocket), but I can hide that with all the stuff I carry in that pocket anyway.

Been awhile since this thread has been updated so thought I would bring it to the top. Now that you guys have some history with the S&W 69 what are your thoughts?
