I found out over the weekend that my copy of THE CUSTOM REVOLVER by Hamilton Bowen is worth a lot of money, two used copies on Amazon are listed at $1900 and over $2000.
How would I go about putting mine up for sale where it would have a reasonable chance to sell?

Ebay? Gun Broker? Ruger Forum Classifieds? Lots of places. If you are worried about where it sells (price wise), put it on Ebay or Gun Broker with a reserve.

JMHO, but I'd try to find out the prices that recently sold books went for. People can ask anything for an item, but the asking price is a very poor measure of actual value. I'd be very surprised if those copies on Amazon sell at all, or at least very soon.

I was hoping there was something better than EBAY or GUNBROKER for a book selling site.

Give the thing to Cody! I just bought another copy of one of JT's books for my son in law stationed in Afghanistan.

I think the Academy ruined him on reading. I gave him a copy of Hell I Was There, a book I read at his age and couldn't put down, and he brought it back before his Afghanistan vacation, said he didn't read ANYTHING any more.
How's Remington doing? He's flying C-17's isn't he?
Cody is flying C-130's, well I should say he's a C-130 pilot sitting on his butt in Germany because the Govt has no money for fuel.

Like everything else, its worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Bookfinder.com which I use to search for books shows only the Amazon copy at 2K, which to my mind is insane, and just someone trying to make a killing. Its legal of course but only a boob or someone with lots of disposable cash would pay it.

Rem and Ashly both just finished SOS down in Alabama earlier this month. He thinks he will do his instructor upgrade stuff next so that should mean he won't head back to Kyrgyzstan until some time after the first. He is flying the KC-135 refueler for now but he thinks he will be switching airframes in the next year or so. The new son-in-law is in Afghanistan right now flying Pavehawks for the para-rescue jumpers. He has had a couple of tough rescue missions already in the first month. I think it is just as tough mentally on these young folks as it is physically.

How would I go about putting mine up for sale where it would have a reasonable chance to sell? Considering the E Book can be had for $9.99 on Amazon that would seem a little high... I'll also be the lone voice in the wilderness in saying that the binding on my copies degraded very quickly and I don't know I'd buy another hard copy after both bad experiences, which were not isolated incidents after hearing from BCA...Great information but the book shouldn't self destruct like a Mission Impossible assignment...

Is the book discontinued?

The hard copy of the book is no longer available nor does Hamilton plan on redoing in in the near future according to our last conversation.

For the price some are asking online, you could buy the e-book and a iPad to read it on. I've got a hard back copy I've had for years but I no longer read it because the binding is loosening up. When I want to read it, I read it on my iPad and it's as good as the printed book.

No matter how much it may be worth at this point, I have no desire to part with my copy. I think it is an invaluable source of reference material that is extremely well written. I feel fortunate to have a copy. JMHO.

I could let mine go for $2k.... it's like new. Or the book and $500 for a .45 Colt Nimrod. Any takers?

+1 If anyone wants to trade me a Bowen revolver for a Bowen book, I'll make that trade
