Worms, slugs, vegtables (lettuce, tomato, peas, cucumber, pureed carrot), fruits such as watermelon, diced apple and pears, cantelope, etc. And even though adult turtles are supposed to be less carnivore, these two love raw chicken. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

When I was a kid box turtles were like gold bullion to us. I used to go out at night with a flash lite and catch nite crawlers off the lawn. They were partial to slugs too. Out of date tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce from the farm stand were also a favorite.

Last summer I saw one eating a mushroom on my lawn - which kind of surprised me since fungi have little nutritional value.

Lucky and Flash sure are a lot prettier than the ones we mess with... and for the record, these taste just like frog legs.

Just a couple of observations for Lee. First, youre lucky. My parrots dont hibernate. Second, you really need to get out more....

One of many memorable things when I left Midland Texas in "97. The turtles appearance each year was a highlight that my boy's still recall. Nice shots.
