Our first .32 H&R was an S&W 631/4". With hotter loads it's a handful but we put an old pair of Farrant stocks on it and that helped a lot, although though the sharp checkering is not for soft hands. Our single Six came back from Ronnie Wells last week and the Bisley look is very pleasing and the potatojudge jr. grip frame is great. Will have to thin down the grips some to fit our hand. Will work on that while out West next month shooting varmints. Plan on shooting the SS a bunch; shoot some, sand the grips some, shoot some more, sand, and shoot 'til it's just right. So far our best load seems to be a Rim Rock 115gr RNFP GC over 4.0gr of W231 for a velocity of just hair over 1000fps. Next best is a Rim Rock 125gr. Keith SWC. Worst loads accuracy wise have been with Hornady XTPs, both 85 and 100gr; groups look like buckshot patterns at 25 yards. The 115 Rim Rock load prints 1.5 to 2.25" groups, which is, quite frankly, better than I can normally shoot. Never could shoot really tight groups. We are enjoying the .32 H&R a lot! Could be it will replace our Kimber Rimfire 1911 in .17M2 as our main handgun for use on gophers; we'll see.

Just ordered (500) 327 Federal primed brass from FA. They still have some left if anyone is looking for some.

2 Dogs is correct! .32s are addictive. Went to a local gun show last Saturday and came home with another .32 H&R Single Six that we need like another hole in our head. Price was better than right and it is really nice for a 1985 vintage gun. Now we have a base gun to try the RW grip frames lightning GF on.

I did NOT need to learn that this was a thing.

Squawberry The Kimber 1911 in .17M2? If that what you are referring to? It is a thing; although a rare one. Most fun gopher buster ever.

hey Froggie,
Really nice seeing you here. i usually see you over on the SWForum.
I am shooting a Ruger Buckeye and a Blackhawk 8 that are quite sturdy. I'm trying work up a load with #9 and a 115gn SNS rnfp red coated bullet. There doesn't seem to be a lot of load data for the 32H&Rmag and #9. I have found a couple of recipes that vary widely for analysis.
I was hoping i could get you to write me about your recipes with #9 and 32mag. If you don't wish to publish, PM would work for me. I see that you are using 125gn, my 115gn might require maybe a .5gn addition to approximate your 125gn recipe; but i think i could treat it as a starting load with no changes and stay safe.
I've loaded a few at 7.75gn to start, but haven't shot them yet. I'm guesstimating that they might get around 1050fps. After chronoing, I can make my adjustments, but I always like to get 3 locations that have done something similar before firing away. Can you help me? Anyone else shooting .32 and #9 would be welcome to contribute.
For those who don't know Green Frog and like .32, I strongly suggest you hit the SWForum and read his posts.

I've got some #9 data on my laptop, but I left it at work today. I'll send it tomorrow.
However, 4227 has performed better for me than #9 did. Especially with 100+gr bullets.

Love my 32’s. This Thursday at the range will be a Single Six short barrel Birdshead and a Single Six Bisley. Both in 32 H&R.

Handloader magazine from Oct. 2018: 115gr Rim Rock RNFP w/ GC A-9 starting 7.5 gr for 1,147 fps A-9 max (+p) 8.75 gr for 1,335 fps 1.365" OAL Test gun was NM Single Six w/ 6.5" barrel GREAT post. Exactly what I needed! I'm surprised I didn't have that Handloader article in my 3 ring binder. It shows I was off with my 7.75gn velocity estimate of 1050fps by more than a 125fps (with the extra .25gn of powder). Under 1,200fps will still work for me. I always estimate a new load; AND, I don't like being surprised handloading !!! Then the 8.75gn with only 1.25gn more powder got 188fps more velocity. That's more than I normally expect. That velocity of 1335fps is a little much for me. That's the territory for my 32-20 and 327fm. Grist for the mill. thanks much, Prescut

Bigbore,
I too have tried the 4227 with my .32's. I got hooked on 4227 in the 357max. I now try it in most all calibers for a test. Wanna share your 4227 data and results as well? Anxiously awaiting what you find for either powder.
