I did slug the barrel but didn't write it down because I was so pizzzzed with Ruger's answer. I'm going to do it again shortly.
I'm also thinking about a Fa 97 in .327 with a .32-20 cylinder. Sort of a Bucket List gun. My abilities don't justify the expenditure but it is still an itch.

My 45 Colt Montado wouldn't keep all 6 shots on a 12" paper plate at 15 yards when I got it. After I got it back from Alan Harton it puts those same bullets on top of each other at 15 yards.

A little off topic for a single action forum but I have a 32 H&R 10” contender barrel I have been playing with after having a revelation.
The 32 contender uses a 308 bore and probably a 1-10 twist barrel to keep things simple. The thought occurred to me to try 308 rifle bullets.
I started with a 110gr Vmax under 10 and 11 grains of H110 loaded to a 1.800” overall length. This put me about .010” off the lands and the 11 grain load is capable of stacking shots at 25yds. Best of yet the primers are completely round after firing, this is not the norm when approaching 327 federal pressures so I must be well under those. The temptation to keep going is strong but also strong is the temptation to try heavier bullets. I tried like heck to find people that have done this in past ihmsa days but whatever info that’s out there probably predates the internet. I have some extra .308 caliber bullets to try in weights up to 180 grain but no idea what to do about powder type or load capacity. I even cut down some 327 brass to fit the chamber of this barrel and possibly take a little more pressure but I just have no idea where to start.
I found mention of an article from an ihmsa magazine called 30 super slow but no way to find the actual article.

I've got a 12" 30 Reece Barrel that performs like these. Basically a 38 Special case necked to 30 Caliber...

I seated a 155gr Berger over 9 grains of Accurate 1680. It leaves me with a little room in the case and .030” off the lands. I haven’t crimped these yet so the bullet will still slide out easy until I research this further.

That's an interesting idea...I have a 12" .32 H&R TCA barrel that I had a friend punch out to .327...have been running my standard 85 grain Hornady XTP revolver load in it with zero pressure signs.
Have to look in my bullet bin to see what light weight .30s I have...

A friend who I was just shooting with yesterday has the same setup but with the standard 4.25" barrel...

I have been playing with the 327 GP-100 a little but I haven’t actually shot it yet. First off I remembered why I traded that first SP-101 away. I was digging around in some old brass the other day and I found a bunch of culled 327 Starline brass. I have about 200 that are bulged at the base beyond where the carbide sizer will go. I’m not sure if my loads were hot but from what I have been reading they were not off the charts, I think the cylinder of the SP-101 was to blame. Anyways I didn’t know if any of this brass is actually ruined, I just wasnt comfortable using it with a noticeable bulge. After I started sizing 10mm brass with a push thru die I had one of those AH-HA moments. I took a NOE sizing ram and started pushing some of my rimmed pistol brass all the way up into the die and beating it out with a brass punch. This actually works quite well and doesn’t take up much extra time. The only issue to look out for is if the primer pockets are loose. I sized about 60 of these old cases and they all seated cci 400s with plenty of tension. Also about a week ago I was in my sportsman’s warehouse and I stumbled across these Cast Performance 113gr .313 gas checked bullets. 250 for about $50. I certainly can’t buy a mold, sizer bushing etc for that and I probably won’t be shooting the 327 a ton until components loosen up. I bought my first box of commercial cast bullets in about 5 years. Much to my surprise (and delight) these actually weight 118gr. I loaded up 25 with 12.5gr H110 and another 35 with a 100gr xtp and 13.0gr H110. My old leftover loads are 10.5gr 2400 and a hunters supply 115gr hardcast plain base RFN

Man, This thread is killin' me! I've been wanting one of the 5 1/2 inch Ruger Bisley Single Seven for a while and reading this 20 pages of information has made the craving flare up like a bad rash. Apparently Ruger isn't building any of them even though they're still listed on their website. My dealer checked to see if by any chance Lipsey's had one but that was a dry hole.

I haven't stopped by lately, but I'm stuck at home due to a snowstorm and decided to cruise some of my old topics. Since I was here last, I've reacquired a Buckeye Special 32 combo to "back up" my stainless Blackhawk 8-shooter. A trip to Ohio to visit my old friend Dale53 and once again I have a good assortment of cast bullets to load both 32 H&R and 327 FM. I initially thought I would have the Buckeye punched out to 327 and limit myself to this one useful revolver, but where's the fun in that" So here I am once again searching out the best loads I can find for all the 32 revolver cartridges. C'mon Spring so I can get out and shoot some of these new loads! Froggie
