My hands do not fit the 41 frame well, my second issue handgun was a Colt Python 4", year 1970. Smiths fit me better KL frames quite well. That aside, I hope Colt gets a grand slam out of their Pythons. The old Pythons had their issues and Colt has address some of these on the new ones. To those who complain about the quality and the finish, buy one of the old ones for 3 grand. The old days aren't coming back.
I have a new Colt Cobra that has received a lot of naysaying on this forum and others but it is "dead nuts" accurate with an action and sights, that are better than the old DSes and Cobras I carried as a Cop thirty years ago. Better reliability, not as pretty, but my self defense and sporting weapons are tools not idols.

Over on the Pistol Forum someone has posted a pic of a Ruger SP 101 3" Wiley Clapp edition. I hope it's true supposed to be released at the SHOT Show! I've thinned out my snubbies and small 357s to one and that is a Kimber K6 2". Currently saving up for a 3" small frame 357. Something to fill the gap between my Kimber and my Ruger Match Champion 357.
Up til this announcement the new King Cobra 357 has been in my sights, now I'm seeing double. Hope to shoot both before I make the decision.
Reported SKU#15710 Saw the "photo" and it really looks good.
They're on the market just went to TSS Warehouse and they have 10 in stock.UPC: 736676157105

Great little shooters, turn of the 20th century a lot of coppers carried a 32. Have considered the 327 personally but it means another caliber to load for. SP101 6 shot??
The Colts are finely fitted gems, enjoy!

What exactly are you going to put these on? I have a Novak Gold Bead and a Novak Night sight on my GP 100s. Here's a pic of the MC with factory OEM (Novak).

I'm a young 73 but I already have my grail gun. I've been a 44 Spl fan since I first read Skeeter Skelton in 1973. This is my grail gun:

My favorite 44 Spl load in all my 44s and especially the 4.6" Flattop Bisley is the 8.0 Power Pistol load with a 240-250 LSWC, standard large primer: Superb accuracy in all my 44s, Mags included and is whistling along at 950fps and only 17,000 PSI for pressure.
Taken from Brian Pearce's work in Handloader Mag Teir 2 44 Spl load.

Groo I like the way you think. Short 44s are handy, and everpresent.

Front sight, yours is probably a pin in, Newer ones had the plunger system that looks like it came from the GP100. That's about all I know about them.

Fair, depends on condition. In good shape and is cosmetically clean, extras help such as brass and other goodies.

They are the best of the single stack metal Smith 9s. Shot them a lot in the late 80s and early 90s. Magazines are a little tricky to find so buy some extras if you're going to keep the gun. Smith built this one right. Great 9, it was swallowed up in the 40 S&W craze, and forgotten by many.
