Has Hamilton agreed to work on one? If he won't at least he'll still sell his dovetail front sight base for another smith to install. I got an email back from Mr. Bowen this morning. He said: "While we no longer catalog offerings for traditional single actions, I would be happy to undertake work on your Standard Manufacturing SAA as we have not seen one yet. Only real proviso is there isn't much we can do if the front sight comes in a bit short. You have to trust my eyes and hands on regulation and understand that nobody can really sight a gun for someone else with exactitude except by dumb, blind luck--this is why the invented adjustable sights. But, we can usually get pretty close, close enough for most anything one needs to do with such a gun." As soon as it hits my FFL from Bud's Guns, off it goes to Bowen then to Rob Rowen for new shoes.

He has done work on USFA guns, Ashley Emerson's little 45 colt comes to mind. If he won't, Dustin Linebaugh will. I talked to him yesterday about another project and ran the basic concept by him.

Thanks again. I have pretty much resolved to get one with the 5 1/2" barrel then have Bowen tweak it a bit. Barrel cut back even with the ERH, Dovetail front sight and Rowen sheep horn shoes. Perfect EDC.

Standard is owned and operated by Connecticut Shotgun. I am lusting over the website and youtube videos. Anyone here picked one up and op tested them yet? If the SAAs are anything like the shotguns they build they will be nice! The price I have seen is about 1800 with standard grips and upgrades for fancy walnut and ivory is extra.

After the well known wait as discussed in a previous thread ("Got a call from Dustin Linebaugh") UPS delivered a package Monday evening.
Stainless Vaquero .475L. Octagon 5 1/2" barrel, Dustin's silver lined front sight and upgraded rear. Regulated for 425 grains over 24 grains of H-110. Black micarta grips.
For some reason I have not been able to access my photo bucket account so photos will have to follow.

Grizzly will still work on the Remington Marlins but ONLY after thorough inspection. They have had problems with the new one to say the least.

Ed Head at Gunsite wrote an article about the P320 sometime ago. He seems to think they are a solid choice for the Striker Fired Tribe.

Great Grandfather Anderson quotes:
Viscosity reviews: "Slicker than sour owl sh^t!"
Comments on hygiene: "His breath would knock a buzzard off a gut wagon."
Locating someone: "He went to sh^T and the hogs et him."

When I was getting ready to retire from the Navy, Lee and I had a brisk correspondence going for about a year. Lee, Rob Leahy and I horse traded a bit and I really enjoyed Lee's advice and commentary. I wish I had taken his advice I'd be up about 4 grand.
We have kept him in our thoughts and prayers.

"I feel your pain!" I had to finally put my 1992 Toyota SR5 down last night. I have put about 3 x what the truck is worth in repairs over the last 3 years. Second head blown gasket was the last straw.
Time to find another truck to drive for 24 years.
