check... www.gmdr.com/lever/lowveldata.htmi use the 444 with 300gr saeco fn with 25.0gr of 2400 with a tuft of dacron. i haven't chrony yet, but i'm guessing 1600fps. my 444 is a tc encore with a 23" MGM barrel. i'm disabled(due to a bad stroke) so i decided that 2400 is the way to go fer me. i can't find the load data that was used, was it alliant's reloading manual or hercules?

yep, i'll do that.
when i picked it up from gun dealer, he goes "9.3mm, what kind of gun?" its a 9.3x57. he goes, "man, its goin to knock your block off!!!" i go, we'll see. i like the way the 9.3 recoils. its not a snap of of '06, but it "pushes or rolls". the 9.3x57 doesn't hurt me, even tho its buttplate is a plastic replacement(which i go, ehhhhhhh, i hate it). i never weighed the 9.3 but i think it should be 6 1/2-7lbs?.

i fire formed 8x57 prvi to 9.3x57 prvi. all i did was take the 8x57 and i resized(hornady fl die, i only did the neck of the case, i left about 1/8" gap between the die and the shell holder) it to 9.3x57. to fire form the 9.3x57 i put in the primer, put in the charge and i topped it off with a bullet. (i'm going layman here) then i fired it. the charges were 42.0gr, 43.0gr, 43.5gr, 44.0gr and 44.5gr of imr4895/ 285gr prvi rn. left case IS NOT fire formed, right case IS fire formed 5 fire formed cases resized cases i could find no pushed out primers or soot on the cases. the shoulder of cases was pushed back and formed. case measurement(avg. COL) not fire formed - 2.215" COL fire formed - 2.218" COL fire formed and resized - 2.222" COL in fire forming my cases(42.0-44.5gr of imr4895) i did expect the 9.3 to "kick". it was more along the lines of a "push". (kick-now and a push-it will get there, eventually:D). i'd say the 9.3x57 is like your 30-06(7.5lbs) and 180gr bullet. i didn't get the accuracy or the fps, i was just shooting at the middle of target stand. from info i gathered, i could go up the charge(imr4895) about a 1 or 2, but i'll be cautious of it. ummmm i know this isa dumb question but.....what about rel7? i have many pounds(also 2400) of it or would i be best to let cast boolits deal with it? next year the 9.3x57 will be a cast boolit gun. i'm figuring on a 270-280gr fn gc that goes about 1700-1800fps.

You may wish you had trimmed after fire forming. Some cases will grow uneven when fire forming. i might!!!!

Did you expect it to have three holes in the side of the receiver? It looks like a pretty nice rifle but I personally cannot abide ruining beautiful rifles with a side mount. yes, i didn't mind it. since the rifle was "ruined" . i want to D&T it for a scope and "bend" the bolt handle.

this week i got my 8x57 brass and 285gr prvi's and a hornady die 9.3x57. the hornady die does have a "new fangled tapered expander balls." so i spayed lube the 8x57 cases and the fl sizing die. when the 8x57's were done drying, then i lube up the inside neck, i was using lanolin paste/wax/anhydrous(don't know, but its like vasoline). then i'd take the cases into a 9.3x57 fl sizing die, it would be 2 - 3 times(upstroke) till the 8mm was upsized to 9.3mm. next it was the wet tumbler drying. when the new 9.3x57 was dry, i trimmed and deburred them(2.215", they were 2.220"). i know that the norma 9.3x57 cases are 2.240" but my cases(8x57) are .025" smaller. not enough to worry about. i took a case and a bullet and put them in a bullet seater die. i seated the bullet about a 1/8" into the case. next i took the rifle out and put the dummy round in. twice!!!! the dummy round only pushed the bullet about 1/8" in(about 1/4"). my magazine will have nothing to do with the 9.3x57 because of its length (it don't fit, 3 3/4"). too much free bore, i think. i then began to seat the bullet (magazine length). i did seat it to the magazine length, but i seated the bullet deeper, about a 1/8", (3.115") to give room. tomorrow or monday, i'll load 20 of the 9.3x57 to 40.0gr of imr4895 and 285gr prvi to fireform them.

the marlin 25 bolt action(22lr) doesn't have future. its been put away in the safe for about 7- 8 years. i've been using my tc encore with a 23" MGM barrel in 20 vartarg. i can go to 300+ yards. i can reload it. i guess its cheap to use(srp, 18 or so grains of powder and a 34gr hp) but i don't know or care. i've gotten rid of my 222, 223 and 22-250ai . i can shoot soda cans, paper, rocks, groundhogs, foxes and 'yotes(i'm trying to get that).

Been there done that and yeah it really works. Also in my experience the lanolin separates from the alcohol after a day or two and you have to take your spray bottle, put it in warm water to melt the lanolin again. Shake vigorously again to get everything mixed up. But for sure it works. its only one time that you heat up some water. you just have to shake it up, like hornady 1 shot.

i bought a 99% isopropyl alcohol and a jar of lanolin to see if they could work. i used all of my hornady one shot lube so i decided if alcohol/lanolin would do the job. i wasn't too impressed but i am CHEAP!!!! i took 8oz of isopropyl and 1 oz of lanolin. i put them in a sealed peanut butter jar and then i put them in hot water. 10-15 minutes later the lanolin melted into the alcohol and it was put into my plastic sprayer bottle. i had 150-200 20 vartarg cases that needed reloaded. so i got ziplok bag and put 20vt cases in and i sprayed the mixture into to it. i took my 20vt fl resizer and i gave it a shot of mixture. i waited about 5-10 minutes and i began to resize. i was in la-la land!!!! the ease of the dried cases was like melted butter over toast! i was impressed!!!!! not once did i feel the cases were stuck or the neck expander go into and out. it was put the case into the reloader, pull the handle, push the handle, take out the case and begin again. hornady one shot be danged, there is a new sheriff in town. his name is The Mixture!!!! this is who i got the mixture from, www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kNG0rtz0mM
