Princeout that sounds like what I did on a Ruger. If the person ever tells me he will sell, I will contact you (if you don't mind)and see if we can work something out. Randy

I like your idea. In fact I don't want a safe Queen I want a Shooter, I have the ability to cut and if I held my mouth just right could install the NF style front site. I have done so on Ruger brand single actions. Guess I never thought about the custom barrel. I was thinking of using the barrel it came with. Anyone else care to comment, like to hear from you.

I have a Colt NF that I have been talking to the owner about selling to me. It has a 7 1/2" barrel and I want a 5.5" OR 4 3/4" barrel. My question is, should I have the barrel cut and the sight re-installed or try to find what length I want and have it installed. And also who would be a good Smith to do the work? Thank You, Randy

I love my 5.5" 44 Special, and can't wait to get the same only in 45 Colt.

With the base and the lower part of the rings being one there are less parts to join than on the others but all will work. I just like the "cleannes" of the Lovell which is why I have Lovells for both my 97 and my 414. Would you consider posting a picture of your mount along with the contact information. Thanks in advance.

Value?

Being from East of the Mississippi, I don't see a lot of Elk Antlers. The ones I have seen are Big. Until now I have just looked and thought how nice they look. How would someone place a value on a pair? Every time I see them they amaze me, one , just because they are for sale, two, they are so large. Can anybody help me figure their value?

I have a 1962 44 Mag. Flattop with the 6 1/2" barrel. It's as it came when new. Other than a small spot on the left front of the barrel which is worn bright, the rest of it could be considered 96 to 98%. I have another 6 1/2" barrel that's about 98% condition. Also I have a 4 3/4" .44 cal. barrel it needs reblued. I want to end up with a 4 3/4" to 5 1/2 barrel but I also want to be able to put it back the way it was. It's not been shot but very little and has very little movement in the cylinder and it shoots quit well if I due my part. So should I just leave it alone or chop, swap or just put the shorter barrel on?

Yeah, but don't have the need or room for two. I prefer the 5 1/2" so it has a new home. I wanted a FA-97 in 44 Special. But, this new Ruger Flattop is so well built my thirst has been quenched. Still want a FA-97 41 Magnum with a 7 1/2" barrel. Checkbook says not for a while. I came across a FA-97 44 special 51/2" bbl. not too long ago and I cannot find anything, anywhere, wrong on the Gun. It's like having the best Sex you have ever had.

I have that same 44 and I would also like to find a pair of Grips, stocks, shoes or what ever. Mine have the back side punched out of one side. I was lucky though, the broken piece is still there and I fashioned a brass tube for the screw to go through and contact the other side. It works and I'm not running very hot loads at all.

I think it's best the way it is. Did this Great site at one time have a classified section? I have enjoyed this Forum since finding it. Has anyone thought that I have everything assbackwards?

I would like to see some data using "Longshot" with 200 or 230 gr. bullets.
