Being from East of the Mississippi, I don't see a lot of Elk Antlers. The ones I have seen are Big. Until now I have just looked and thought how nice they look. How would someone place a value on a pair? Every time I see them they amaze me, one , just because they are for sale, two, they are so large. Can anybody help me figure their value?

All I can say is check to make sure it is legal to sell big game parts such as antlers in your state. In Oregon, only a taxidermist can sell hides, capes or antlers to collect a debt. I think there is an exception for people licensed to buy antlers but for the most part it is illegal to sell big game parts. Just something to check on.

Never would have thought of that. Some time ago I had a bunch of African hides I didn't want anymore, placed an ad in the Little Nickel paper and sold them. Never occurred to me it might not be legal. Stuff like that is worth what ever someone is willing to pay for it.

I had a pretty nice 6X6 pair I got from a gun shop that was going out of business. Paid him $100. Couple years later, I listed them on several websites and finally got...my $100 back. Took me months. If they are green, you can sell them as dog chew toys and come out way ahead. When they are more than a couple years old, seems everyone wants them, but no one wants to pay anything for them.
My two cents.
