Hey Axe, 4 presses, two hands, the math doesn't work ! LOL. Oh, the special in mag thingy, deepseat in mag brass and load down. Guessing you know that'n. An exception here, the 300 gr Hammer in special brass for the snubby M69. A low volume load anyway.

Todays culinary adventure will be 6 huge turkey thighs in the smoker. They marinaded/brined over night. The mesquite chips will get soaked here in a bit.

Day of rest. Tweaked knee officiating a football game last night. Getting old that tough.

Well, the smoked turkey thighs and peppers came out really well. Other plans faded with phone call from Fla., of Mom-n-law taking a bad turn health-wise. A flight arranged for Mon., eve. and wife in crazy pack/clean/laundry/cook mode. To leave me in good shape to survive a week or more ... Sigh. Life stuff.

Decided to send the molly mule to school today. Saddled up, went around the barrier an headed to town. Cars, skateboards, bikes, garbage cans and dozens of little kids with their mouths open. She did great and there were no wrecks to be seen. It was a good workout for her and the best part was when she got home she was so tired, I was able to worm her without a huge battle! A young girl is coming over this week and take her dream ride so I want to make sure she is tuned up before that happens. Little does she know that means she is headed for the hills tomorrow she is a darn good mule for what I do with her.

Shot the new 480 ruger today. I had a problem shaving lead where the chambers meet the throats. As I understand it, it is pretty common with cast bullet shooters. Apparently the transition is too abrupt. Doug Guy made some tooling to fix this. I am thinking about sending him the cylinder to fix it. Other than that, it shot as good as can be expected with deformed bullets. I will resume testing loads after I get this fixed.

Are the britches on the mule to keep the saddle from running forward on down hill assents? Good looking mule by the way.

That is why we ride with britches. Many mules don't have enough withers to keep the saddle from sliding forward when going down steep hills. Some ride with a crupper instead but I prefer the britchen. She is a real sweetheart of a molly and has never not gone someplace I have pointed her. I had her half sister as well and she was just as good and tough but not as much of a people animal so when I had to go to one, Copper got to stay.

Mules! Back in the early 60s Daddy would borrow one to snake hardwood logs from places the tractor just would not fit. That mule would easily pull anything we hooked her to.

Monday? Loaded some swaged lead 158 grains bullets with a little 231 yesterday. Pulled the Post War Magnum out of the safe. I'll shoot the 158s today to see if we need to load more...
