Is Bowen Classic Arms offering a 5 shot .480 on the mid frame flattops?
I thought that I'd read this some where on the forum.

I thought I remembered seeing a Huntington 480 mid frame with a shorty barrel on here a while back. I could be getting mixed up though.

I just saw that one first hand not 30 minutes ago. It is a work of art. He has some other customs and a TLA, I asked him to stop by this forum and say hello.

I have one in the works from Jack built on a stainless .44 Special flattop.
Will have an 4 5/8 oct barrel, a Bisley hammer and his extended grip frame. Should be done in time for X-mas!
I think the .475 Special belongs to the same guy from castboolits.
Bowen absolutely will not do it.

Hi All,
I been meaning to come over. A gent on castboolits told me about this site awhile ago and Zac again today. My Huntington 480 is a sweet little beast. If any of you are around Colorado Springs and want see it or shoot, feel free to give me a holler.
I do have a 475 Special at Jacks, but it is on a S&W N-frame.
Thanks
Aaron

That gun is stunning. I've been tossing around the idea of a 5-shot .480 Ruger conversion on a Bisley Blackhawk frame. Only thing I'd do different is a 5.5" barrel & some plain grain, but well fitted walnut stocks. Maybe .480R case heads for medallions. What's the difference between a .480 Ruger & a .475 Special?

The 475 Special is a shorter case than the 480 and intended to run 350gr bullets at 900fps or so.

Whitworth
The 475 Special is still at Jack's. Not exactly sure of the timeframe for finishing it. I think it is getting pretty close. I know he is almost done with another project that was inspired by Lloyd's Single-Six 41 Special he posted pics of at castboolits site.
I obtained an old model Single-Six and sent it to Ruger to have the transfer bar safety done on it before sending it to Jack. Jack is turning it into a five shot 40 S&W/10mm convertible. It will be the little brother to the 480, but will have a birdshead brass grip frame. Everything else will be a copy of the 480.
The 475 Special is on a S&W N-Frame and will as closely duplicate a 3.5 inch model 27 as possible, well, as much as the big hole in the barrel will allow.
He also has a 500 S&W on the Ruger Maximum frame that I should see at any time.
I also have him doing a 500 JRH on a Marlin 1894 to go with a short stainless 500 he did for me years ago.
Lastly, he is fixing a 50 Alaskan on a Marlin that someone else that is supposed to know how to do them could not do properly.
As you can tell, I like what Jack does, so I keep going back. I have a donor pre-safety Marlin 1894 that I am thinking about having him do a 480 Ruger with it to go with the mid-frame 480.
As soon as I get any of this stuff, I will post pics.
