Okay, I'm either stupid or my eyes aren't working too well, but I own two stainless Bisleys and I'm having trouble seeing any modification to your grip frame. Is it possible to illustrate the difference, perhaps with side-by-side photos? Thanks. Shoot, I was supposed to post up a photo of the Huntington modified Bisley next to a stocker and I forgot. My apologies. Axe posted a tracing of the two grips (Huntington modified Bisley and a standard Bisley) when he got his Huntington .500 Maximum. The thread is here somewhere......let me look. It is subtle, but I can tell you that it works. My Maximum never makes knuckle contact (thankfully!).

Yeah, That was me, It was during the "I picked up a used 500 max" Thread.................that spiraled out of contol. I live an 1 1/2 -2 hrs. from Jack's shop, I've held it and I have shot it. It looks just like a standard Bisley, He takes just enough out between the trigger guard and the backstrap.

Axe did a great job of drawing pics.......Grips off standard Bisley vs. Grips off Huntington modified Bisley. Forum members need a pic of that.
Trust me, It's not very much...........but it sure is enough.

Not to be confused with how he modifies a Ruger Dragoon or a BFR grip frame...............The way those handle recoil is almost magical.
PS Whitworth, Its probably best to start a new thread on this subject.

No range report this weekend - too hot to shoot. I did touch off one cylinder full cause it couldn't stand it. This is in the shade and it feels hotter than that.

I do miss being in the south sometimes. Not when it's that hot though, I remember that Georgia summer humidity all too well.

Question: When the recessed case head custom Ruger 475 is built is it set up for the original 45-70 case head or the current small case head made so the 475 would fit into a FA? Small rim unless specified. But, not necessary since commercial .475 has been available since 1998.

I agree. There's no need to cut them large. We've had excellent small rim commercial 475 for years. And it isn't that expensive. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Will somebody who has one of Huntington's extended Blackhawk plow handles do a tracing like Axe did with the modified vs. unmodified?

Funny how there are SO many ways to cut a crown. That one is just so very cool

That crown configuration is cool. Don't think I've ever seen it done that way. Details, wow.

My .500 Maximum is configured similarly. Sorry for the picture quality (or lack thereof).
