Sounds like an inherent weakness in the rimfire Bearcat with the consequences of that weakness amplified by the operating pressures of the 22 mag.. May be that all of us Custom Bearcat fans better get our 22 Mag customs built before everyone gets scared!

It's just an inherent weakness in the idiots who felt like they needed to FAN their Bearcats! As a lawyer, Hamilton knows that nothing is proof against fools, and that discretion is the better part of valor. Oh well, my Bowen Bearcats just got more valuable.

Sounds like a problem that would affect regular Bearcats as well as the 22 magnums......

Yes, but a 22 Magnum going off out-of-battery is much more dangerous than a 22 LR.

I have a stainless Bearcat in the safe that gets very little use. More than once, I've almost boxed it up to send to Alan to become an adjustable sighted, fluted cylinder .22 Mag. Have no clue what he charges, though. Course, I've also considered it becoming a .32 Mag!

Frank, fine custom alterations on a little gun are often more than what they cost on a full size gun. With Harton, the question is, will he take on your job at all!

Thanks ,Mr. Garza I Have spent $2500 and up on custom big bores. Was just not wanting to do more than 1000/1500 in a bearcat.
