32 Bearcat? 22 mag Bearcat? I'm thinking that the two are mutually exclusive... We need a 22 Mag AND a 32 Bearcat.. Of course that is in addition to a 22 LR Bearcat too..

The 32 that Boge has is just perfect. I'll have one at some point for no other reason than I think it's cool. As for the bearcat, I prefer the look of the one Alan did for my son with the Clements rear sight etc. no "engraving" etc. as for swapping out barrels, don't know how necessary that is with the 22lr. Gabriel's gun is as accurate as I can hold these days and I know changing the barrel it would not improve that for me personally but the concept is a neat one. I'm sure Gary will sell a bunch of them.

That 32 has more "fun" factor than just about any other gun I've ever shot. I really wanted to slip it in my pocket but Boge is always lookin'

Boge, What are the barrel lenghts of your .22 WMR and .32 H&R Bearcats?

A dinosaur, drinking a beer, riding a cowgirl ? What did I miss ? Anyways, that lil piece would be a nice dog walking gun. and such. I'd try the Federal 50gr HP. If accuracy is there, this may be the best .22mag loading for handguns. steve b

Boge, What are the barrel lenghts of your .22 WMR and .32 H&R Bearcats? Both are 4". Bowen used the factory tube, while Alan used a slightly larger barrel for safety with the larger bore size over the screw threads. Alan says I can confidently shoot any 32 Magnum load in that Bearcat.

Am I having a bad dream or did Bowen pull the .22 mag Bearcat conversion offering? I went to go compare prices and the conversion isn't listed as an option any longer on the website. Will somebody please give me a reality check! I spoke with Chris at BCA today and they did in fact pull the 22 mag Bear Cat....Do to safety issues learned by Mr.Bowen at a recent Ruger Factory visit. He decided that he was not going to continue the Bear Cat....They were not specfic to what was a safety issue...I also learned something new that Mr. Bowen is an Attoney...Fwiw

Sounds interesting... Things as tiny as the little NAA come in 22 Mag.

The more a person visits with and learns about the man in TN, the more one comes to appreciate his background and breadth of knowledge.

I certainly agree. Wasn't going to post this but it answers all the questions...
Thanks for yours of this morning. We have dropped the .22 WRM Bearcat caliber conversions over some safety concerns. I had over the years asked several serious Ruger collectors, authorities on the guns and at least one or two Ruger people why the .22 WRM Bearcat was recalled by the factory and never gotton a sensisble explaination. Only just this last month I have gotton a definitive answer and that from a Ruger engineer who knew exactly what he was talking about. Before we shipped the first of our few conversions, we tried every way under heaven to get the gun to misbehave and could not but, as it turns out, it is indeed possible to manipulate the action in such a way as to drop the hammer on the cylinder when out of battery causing a spitting problem. Takes considerable doing but, under his supervision, I was able to replicate the problem. Chances of this happening in the real world are low but it evidently happened at some point and Ruger decided to drop the Mag. version. Prudence suggests we do likewise. Hope we didn't cause you any grief; we can still offer Bearcat work in .22LR form. Thanks for your understanding. Sincerely yours, Hamilton S. Bowen Bowen Classic Arms Corp.
There ya' have it!
