I've never hunted with or even seen one of those uber bright green lights. What is the deal, do the animals just not see the green light? Mark, it doesn't spook them. Sometimes they react when it is turned on, but then they settle down. Neither of these two animals reacted to the lights -- they reacted to the lead, though..... ;D ;D I too have found the green light to work really well. I aim the spotlight up into the sky when I first turn it on, then slowly bring it down and aim it close to the hogs, but not directly at them, sort of let the peripheral edge of the light pattern shine on them, they never even know its their if done properly. Further, Ive found that the green not only appears to be brighter than a red lens, that the green spooks the animals much less. I hunted for a couple of decades with red filters, went to green about 5 years or so ago and have never gone back to red.... maybe its just my older eyes, but to me the green lens just seems to work better IMO.

I've used red too, and I prefer green. I agree in that I think it is easier to see the green and it tends to shine more brightly. These last two didn't even flinch when I hit them with the light -- oh they did when the lead made contact.... ;D
