Managed to kill two hogs in North Carolina (www.hogheavenoutfitters.com) in a 24 hour period and blooded two revolvers in the process. This first one (a sow) I hammered with my .500 Maximum at 2:00 in the morning. The shot was 25 yards, and the pig didn't go anywhere. Hog number two was shot that evening around 10:00 pm with my new Ruger Bisley in .45 Colt. He also dropped at the shot. It was a good weekend......

Excellent work Whit....thanks for posting this. I know the 500 Max was our favorite load (38.0 of AA1680 and the 525 WFN). The Colt was a 335 LFN going 1,300+ fps, right? -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

I love everything about the Colt. Can't remember the last time one shot that well out of the box. And you already know how impressed I am with that Huntington Max. Undoubtedly this is the first of many animals to succumb to that half-inch wrecking ball. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

That is the plan, Lee! I plan on using it on black bear this year, and whatever else!

Based on the web page, it doesn't look all that far from where my family lives (most are in Goldsboro).

I'm hoping "whatever else" averages 1,600 lbs, has big nasty horns, and involves 6,000 miles of travel to hunt. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

What type of hunting were you doing. I see the kill times and was wondering. Dogs, Hog Lights, What ? It's all good to me. I hog hunt here in GA regular. (private and leased land) And we use every way short of hand gernades to kill them. They are a real pain in the butt here.

I was using a green light and sitting in a stand on the first one and stalked the second one. Here is a link to the light I used: www.hogheavenoutfitters.com/accessories.html

Black on black sights for those shots? I guess the light helps, but still....good shootin'!
