So now you've gone from shooting dark blobs to shooting in darkness. Man we really need to talk. Good job and just when I thought I knew it all you all have shown me what a real dumb a$$ I can be.

Nice shooting! Hog hunting at night is no easy feat, regardless of weapon choice (excluding claymores and a trip wire))... it just adds so many additional variables to the equation, so taking two nice hogs with two nice revolvers is quite a feat, and adding open sights and darkness makes it even more special. Congratulations!

I know 20.0 of H110 with 340 SSK will get you to 1,260 fps. The shorter LFN allows you to run more powder so 1,300+ fps is very doable from a 5 1/2" - 6" barrel. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time" You recall that we saw 1,350 with that load out of that 7 1/2-inch Vaquero. It's a good load and a really nice bullet. That's cooking. I wonder what the pressure is on that load? I load this 355 wfn out of a custom LBT mould over 21.5 H110 and I'm right a 1200ish out of my 7.5 SBH BisHunter. I think it was 1150ish in the 4" Redhawk. Here is it next to a 360gr Cast Performance. It intrudes less on case capacity than the CP 360. I haven't seen any need to go hotter. Accuracy is great. I just need to bloody one of em. Missed the moose last fall. No time to bear bait this spring. I may find time for a spot and stalk hunt though. CP 360 on right, LBT 355 on left

Is it just me or do those darned hogs never seem to stop moving? Gave up bow hunting for them years ago because every time I'd lose an arrow at one they'd move and I'd make a bad hit.

They are perpetual motion machines for sure! This is one of the reasons I never (rarely) head shoot them -- too easy to mess up.

Nice shooting Whit. Open sights, at night under lights, at moving targets. Very impressive shooting

Distance? Shots go straight through?

Distance? Shots go straight through? Not far, the sow was 25 yards away (paced off) and the boar was quite a bit closer when I got the drop on him (the wind was right). Oh yeah, both exited.

Great hunt! I was going to ask about the 335 at 1300 fps, too, but I see Grizzly has produced a winner with that load. I run a CP 335 WLNGC at 1200 fps from a 5.5" Bisley with 22 grains of W296.
Two great guns, two nice hogs, and a great hunter. Awesome!

I've never hunted with or even seen one of those uber bright green lights. What is the deal, do the animals just not see the green light?

Sometimes they react when it is turned on, but then they settle down. Neither of these two animals reacted to the lights -- they reacted to the lead, though..... ;D ;D
