By August I'll have some 525s and a few loaded up with Lee's Knuckle Killer Load just for you! They're only knuckle busters if you actually shoot them Axe -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Axe have you shot it next to your other 500Maximum? I'm wondering if the porting does anything useful on a round with that heavy a bullet and so little powder, when I removed the port on my first x-frame I only noticed less sound/pressure wave.

Shooting them side by side is on the agenda... Just got to get that specific agenda on the calendar. FWIW I'd never have ordered it ported. It was an "In Stock" gun that was already ported. Based on my personal experience with magna ported FAs I'm expecting the difference in the 5 1/2 inch ported gun and the 6.5 unported gun to be insignificant. Of course it won't be a good test since the Reeder gun is heavier... I'll try to find something to get us the weight of each gun..

Joking aside, I'll be curious to know what you think of the Max. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Might be thin skinned about it if I felt like you guys had even a slight hope of ever even seeing as much ammo in your entire lifetimes that I burned up on your time and dime...

Sound like a buddy of mine that was on the Army pistol team back in the 50's that told of shooting up an entire steel ham can of 45's each time he had a day off or free time, just so he could stay sharp?

Good point Axe. I've never been in the military and got the chance to shoot some of that neat stuff. But don't be so quick to think the same for Whit. He has a pretty interesting past. And I'm glad you're not thin skinned....it's all in good fun. We just want to see some range reports from these fine customs. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"

Question for Lee: You see the set of numbers I posted for the Reeder cylinder? (Length 2.200 Diameter 1.800) How do they compare to a Seville?

Question for Lee: You see the set of numbers I posted for the Reeder cylinder? (Length 2.200 Diameter 1.800) How do they compare to a Seville? Axe....the window is 2.14" in length. Cylinders ran anywhere from 2.08" to 2.10" depending on the production year and/or location. Just curious....why all the interest in cylinder length? I've never had an issue with OAL on converted Ruger Maximums (assuming the bullet is reasonable for a revolver). Most 475 and 500 slugs have a single crimp groove, so Reeder's added length does nothing but add free-bore. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Building carpal tunnel one round at a time"
