Never been big on Gary's work but that looks pretty good. But how'd he let that go out the door with the engraving running off the frame?

Any of you guys close enough to come by need to make a plan to come hold this one... Got the micrometer out. Got to cut grass now but will have numbers soon.. FWIW Ken sent me a front sight blade for it last week... Needed it in hand to know what rear sight it needed.. Now we know..

Never been big on Gary's work but that looks pretty good. But how'd he let that go out the door with the engraving running off the frame? It's a big caliber....so big that it's designation can't all be squeezed in. I could do without the coloring book style animal pictures as well as the prominence of Reeder's name. Too much self promotion for my tastes. But, I think I could really like in a simpler, less garish form. No offense meant. You've displayed dozens of others that I think are fantastic.

Exactly why there are so many options out there to choose from. Wouldn't the world be a boring place if we all liked exactly the same thing....

This is one that will be fun to watch somebody else shoot! As far as Reeder's propensity for over embellisment - some like it, some don't. This is the reason all women are not red headed. Still a fine looking revolver.

Please excuse me if this has been answered before, but that one looks like it was made from scratch...not one that started life as a Ruger Maxie. Is that right? Good looking gun BTW, thanks for showing it off.

Yup... Not a Ruger Maxie... A little larger all round. The same Reeder with Gary's Magnum Grip frame looks larger to me. The Bisley parts seem to obscure a bit of the size in my eyes. Stay tuned. I plan to build a spreadsheet soon and post the numbers from this Reeder, a Huntington Ruger 500 Max, and a stock Ruger Maximum..

Here's a picture of a Ruger 357Maximum cylinder placed in a Reeder frame. As you can see reeders frame takes a longer thicker cylinder than the Ruger maximum.

That looks to be close to the length of the old Seville maximums, maybe a tad more. Can't wait to see the numbers.
