Nice, isn't that about a 6½"? Looks like a long ejector plus the barrel band.

David's 1.4" off the 500 S&W takes either, the 500 JRH technically has a smaller rim when chambered in the freedom arms. When chambered in a Ruger, you can use cut down S&W brass.
Pretty sure the seller was a forum member off the other site. He may have left during the late unpleasantness.
Also, that is an excellent price.
When someone asks me what I put into my Clements pair, you can get to 6K for the set pretty fast.

So who will end up with it? Hopefully a forum member. I'll not ever understand why people cut these things loose. Guns like that are not an investment. The guy killed something with it (hopefully a good memery), then sells it for a hell of a loss.

In this economy, it is not uncommon to see folks cut their customs loose. Sad reality.

It might be a good price, but for that kinda money I gotta see more than a couple of shadowy silhouette pictures.

He sent me more photos and I would send the gun to be re-blued.

Refinishing the gun will run $150 - $200 tops. You're hard pressed to get into a custom like that for $2,000. -Lee www.singleactions.com

You know I have it on my watch list! Of course I'm using owning a 500 JRH as justification for not being hard after it.. All I need is two cartridges that close.. Both will work in one but only one works in the other... My old addled brain might not be able to keep the stuff separated.

This is a good deal (I GUESS) But again, as far as an actual shooter goes, I think I would lean towards the BFR 500 JRH at about $850 and 6 weeks wait. I already know all the flack I'll hear regarding a custom etc etc etc, apples/oranges etc etc . At $1400, maybe. At $1800, I think I'd buy the BFR, I'd pocket the grand and do more shopping.

You're right about it being an apples to oranges comparison. There is just something about a good custom that cannot be explained until you handle them, and shoot them. I like the BFR option too, but in my opinion, the BFR is just begging for a Bisley grip frame, particularly in the heavier calibers.
