Sounds like it is good that we have both options! Six week wait? FWIW the last time I checked Bud's the 500JRH BFR was in stock.. I've got stock Rugers, BFRs, and customs.. I've even got a few Clements Customs. If there are no budget restraints my choice between a Clements custom and a BFR is a Clements Custom every time. I'm actually afraid to look at my available gun funds.. The 500 JRH BFR money is there but I haven't ordered one yet. If I knew dollars were there to cover the Clements gun I'd have punched Buy It Now button yesterday!

He killed more hogs with handguns last month than most of us shoot at all year, he uses his guns, and he hunts all over the country with them.
This is pure speculation but he probably just doesn't use that one as much as his (numerous) others... That gun has taken a few walks and you can do business with him with complete confidence.

This is a good deal (I GUESS) But again, as far as an actual shooter goes, I think I would lean towards the BFR 500 JRH at about $850 and 6 weeks wait. I already know all the flack I'll hear regarding a custom etc etc etc, apples/oranges etc etc . At $1400, maybe. At $1800, I think I'd buy the BFR, I'd pocket the grand and do more shopping. albundy: nothing wrong with the 500 JRH BFR. It's quite a deal and those guns have outstanding out of box fit and accuracy. That said, a lot of folks believe a full custom is worth the extra $$$. Comes down to making the gun your own.....the sort of thing that's personal and well suited to be handed down to future generations. Just a thought. -Lee www.singleactions.com

I hear ya Lee, I was just voicing MY opinion as to whether I would spend $1800 or $900 and pocket the difference. Being frugal, I'd opt for the later

Turned out to be really nice revolver. Better than the photos indicated. Blood stains not too bad. May not even get it reblued for a while. Struck a great deal on 400pcs of brass that doesn't need the trimming and dies that David cut down for the shortened cases too. Thanks for encouraging me! Like I need help.
