Those blond grips are Box elder burlwood that John fit to the brass bisley grip frame.

Axe, I think that majorKAP was just funning and talking about "Gallagher" that he posted a picture of. That's what I'm assuming anyway. Having been in John's shop, there is nothing about it that primitive Now.....my garage tools....they are primitive!

Evidently, it wasn't a very good one. Maybe it's just that nobody remembers the funnyman Gallagher.

While the advent of the space age has brought on many wonderous manufacturing tools and techniques there is a lot to be said for appears to be primitive workshop technique. Don't I remember reading that one of the tests for a gunsmith candidate at Pachmayr, when it was one of the premier gunshops, was to hand the applicant a piece of steel and a flat file with the instructions to return it perfectly square. It may give up speed but it is hard to argue with the soul of the finished product. good quote AXE a few alabam folks around this fine place

Nice place. I strongly suggest having John meet you in town for lunch and just follow him out I remember I got out easily but it was easier just to eat and follow

Hope I'm not talking out of turn here. I just recently reached out to Mr. Gallagher about some work that I had in mind of doing and since he is just one state from me I thought I could just take a road trip, see his shop and drop off some guns. He responded back within a day or so after I emailed him, his comment was not a good one for sure, I told him I'd keep him in my prayers.
" I am not taking on any work at this time because of health issues. I have stage four throat cancer and have exhausted all the conventional treatment options with out any positive results. If the situation changes I will let you know."
