Ruger Flattop SS .44 Special on the way

Not sure how I'm gonna hide this from my wife but I ordered a Ruger SS .44 Special 4 5/8" today........The guy at the gunstore said "Now you know this is a .44 Special?"

This is going to be the base gun for my dad's first custom job. My current plans include an action job, a 5 1/2" barrel, bowen rear sight, custom front sight, Ivory Micarta stocks, some light scratches........

My Pop has always wanted an engraved gun. I told him we would fancy one up but only if is going to be a shooter.

I'm going to be listing a Ruger Blue Bisley .41 Mag 7 1/2" on Gunbroker soon to finace this project. I'll post a link as soon as I do.

I have found my boys to be a cheap easy and convenient "excuse".

BTW my gal had a comlete knee replacement this year. After a few months recovery and rehab, the constant pain is gone. Still gets some weather change aches but nothing like it used to be.

God bless her and don't fatten her up with those spuds! She's got rehab work to do here pretty soon!

OUR FIRST DATE WAS TO THE GUN SHOP TO PICK UP MY OJALA FAST DRAW RIG. 1958. STILL HAVE BOTH.
