I know they kick a lot, but I'm a little envious of you two. It'd be cool to own a long 500 but the sticker price is a little out of my reach.

I found the Ruger Max on gunbroker and got it for a good price. I also sold off a couple of guns to finiance this latest venture. I have wanted a .500 Max for a long time and will finally make it a reality.

And that would be the exact Jack that crossed my mind.

Thanks! Yeah, it should hurt a bit, but I don't plan on redlining it much. I already have one .50 Alaskan and I can see no reason to try and turn this revolver into one!

I'm impressed Whit. That's the perfect configuration for a 500 Max. Is the basepin a #5? As for it hurting, I think you'll be surprised. It kicks but isn't painful. We'll see what the 525's do, but 50 rounds of near-max 440 grain left me no worse for wear. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Yeah, the basepin is a #5. We're getting there. I am itching to get it in my hands!

I'd have him weld up and fit the cylinder frame ears so they flow right into the grip frame and not allow the "humped" transition. Nice project.
