I've had a few of the 10.5" Super Blackhawk 44 mags. Never heard of one in 44 special only.

Special run for the RCA. I wouldn't pay any of the insane collector premiums some New Models bring. I see listings for the 7.5" Bisley .44Spl over $3000.

It would be easy enough to rebarrel to 10.5" considering the crazy prices that the factory versions sell for.
I had the opportunity to acquire one, at a reasonable price even, but passed. In the end, I realized that I prefer my .44 specials with shorter barrels, and my magnums with longer barrels.

Not a Ruger, but I've got a 10" 44 Special Uberti Bisley by Alan Harton that's getting its maiden powder burn tomorrow around lunchtime...Finally got the courage up to get her dirty

The point in a really long barrel is more velocity. Why handicap it with a short special chamber?
My only long barrel "special" is a 9" 32H&R Single Six, but it predates the 327 Fed by a couple decades.

I bought an RCA 'special' revolver (sight unseen). Once. Never again. This was, in all honesty, a cleanup gun, assembled with leftover parts just to get rid of them. The grip frame didn't even remotely fit the cylinder frame, the grips didn't even remotely fit the grip frame, and I was way less than favorably impressed. Ruger told me that I might be able to return it for refitting in a year, at my expense. That rather soured me on Ruger, along with some other issues.
Those particular guns are worth marginally more now, due to scarcity. There is one less in existence, because that one became something else.
