We know the Anaconda can take the .45 Colt but what about having a .44 rechambered to .480 Ruger? Is there enough room with the bigger cylinder?

I'm not sure of the type of steel used, but highly unlikely.
Ruger's 6-Shot 480 has a Carpenter 465 Steel for the required strength. Plus, the SRH's Lock Notches are offset from the chambers a good bit.
Even then you'd have to determine forcing cone/barrel shank thickness, etc.

Thanks Huey for bringing me back down to earth. I forgot about the 6 shot cylinder. I suppose a custom 5 shot might do it but then we get real expensive quick! I start getting weird ideas for custom guns when the Oxycodone kicks in. Back surgery sucks! I found a good deal on an Anaconda that I can put on layaway and it doesn’t look like they are going to come out with a .45 Colt anytime soon plus I have a bunch of ammo sitting around with no gun to shoot it in. So I guess I will just have to get a .44 Magnum. There are worse things in life I suppose😜

Sadly, I understand.
I've vowed to buy an example of every adjustable sight Snake Gun Variation that is introduced. That does not mean all barrel lengths. Although I did buy two Pythons.
The Anaconda 6" was my first and definitely my favorite.
With it a 4.25" and 6" Python, King Cobra Target 357 and 22 LR.
Thank God for layaway...

Pacecars, I can see why you'd want a .480 Anaconda. I think that visually the SRH is the Edsel of handguns compared to the Anaconda :-) That said, I know the new model Anaconda's long cylinder also has the notches offset, even so I'd not risk it.

I do hope we see a properly dimensions Anaconda 45 Colt. That long cylinder would sure open up some interesting possibilities...

But, neither is producing quality products. Many will not appreciate that statement. But, repeated bankruptcies, etc validate it regardless of the propaganda. However, give credit where it's due. CZ is producing quality products under the Colt Brand just as they always did with their original products. We can hope if nothing else...

If my Anaconda is representative of their direction I'll agree that things just may be looking up at Colt.

I wonder if an old 45 Colt Anaconda barrel would screw onto one of the new production guns.

I think the cylinders and frames are 17-4PH stainless. Although tough, it is not capable of being hogged out for the 480 in 6-shot configuration. If you wanted to make more steam than the 44 mag allows then something like a cut-down 445 super mag would be possible. I'm thinking 1.4 inches of case.
With the 1.909 cylinders. Taking into account rim thickness (.06), and .100 of allowed crimp jump puts you with a maximum bullet protrusion from the case of .470 inches. Well long enough for nearly any 44 cal bullet. The only ones that I've run across that could cause trouble is the 340gr pop can looking bullets from Rim Rock.

A well thought out, logical approach to more power from the Anaconda.
I've also read of CZ using 17-4 Stainless to build these new guns. But, haven't been able to confirm. It would be welcome news...
