Alaskan454, weren't you the guy that posted the video of running an IDPA or ? similar course of fire ? That was cool. That was probably me! I used to occasionally shoot a 454 Alaskan with 300 gr XTPs on a full charge of H4227. They were spicy. 400 PF rounds

Snubby: 1.5-2.5"
Stubby: 2.75-3.75"
Favorite is the S&W 649-2...outfitted mine with an extra cylinder that runs .38 Super and 9mm using moon clips...TK Custom did the work.
Also have a 60-1 with adjustable sights.
Best snub I ever had and should not have parted with was a S&W 632-1 PRO in .327 Federal. Palm size group dead center on a silhouette target at 50 yards.. Got talked into a trade for a 4" 16-2 that Sixshot ended up buying from me...
Have fun with yours....Bob

So I've taken a plunge. I've loaded about 750 357 mags and have tested numerous Underwood 9mm, 38, and 357 loads. Data and photos to come.

I had a snubby 66 for a L-O-N-G time and we used to have indoor revolver neutral matches I used it at. There was no power floor for ammo (which I exploited) and we used only steel and paper targets. The ammo just had to ring the steel and punch a hole in the paper. That little gun beat the tar out of many an auto... the shooter wasn't half bad either :-)
It went away for a snub 686+ and as much as I like the 686 I miss that 66.

Snubbies have a purpose. My wife passed her concealed carry test with her Taurus CH38 with no problems even with the retired NYC cop instructor complaining about it the whole time. He said "why would you want to carry a pos like that?", to which she said "because I shoot it well and like it!" That's my girl!

I know that you just can't wait to come back with a range report. Right?

He said "why would you want to carry a pos like that?", to which she said "because I shoot it well and like it!" That's my girl! That’s funny. When I took my CCW class, I was the only person with a revolver, a 2.75” Speed Six chambered in .38spl. I was also the only one shooting reloads, the instructor was not pleased with either. That said, when we actually shot the targets, I way by far the best shot with the smallest group all well within the circle we were supposed to be aiming for. The instructor changed his tune when he took my target down. I just told him I’m a revolver guy and shoot revolvers better than any auto, unless it’s my Ruger MKII Gov’t Target pistol that I bought when I turned 21.

I have always been partial to this 2.5" Model 19. I have a GP100 in 2.5 inch that I love. Have you tried any of your 357 Mag ammo in a 2.5 inch GP100? I may have to try some.
