What grips do you prefer on a square butt Redhawk? Mine (a 4" .45 Colt) came with the Hogue Bantams which put my hand at an uncomfortable angle.... so I switched to a set of Eagle rosewood grips that match the original Redhawk wood grips... They were alright, but they tried to roll up in my hand a little, somewhat like a single action plowhandle, which made double action follow up shots inconvenient. Right now I've got a set of Pachmayr Gripper Decelerators on it and thus far they feel and shoot fine and I could live with these but I wish they didn't feel "sticky" in the hand. The regular Pachmayr Grippers for a Redhawk seem to be out of production.

Rub talcum powder on neoprene or rubber grips. Also, on certain bicycle grips. David Bradshaw

I too have a 4" 45 Colt Redhawk which came with the Bantam grips. But they suited me so well I also put a set on my 357 Redhawk, which I had tried several different styles but was not happy with any of them.

When it comes to grips,, I tell everyone; "Find what fits YOUR hands." Everybody's hands are different. What works for me,, may not work for you.

I have 3 Redhawks, all wearing the Uncle Mikes grips. Finally found the last one on e-bay.

I tried the original wood, Hogue Bantam, 2 different sets of Pachamayr Presentation's and the Uncle Mikes. I settled on the Pachmayr Presentation's in Camo. If I ever find a Tyler T Grip for the Redhawk I would try the wood again.

On S&W N Frames I like the Hogue Monogrip. I tried three aftermarket grips on my Redhawk, Hogue & Pachmayr and eventually ended up with the factory Ruger grips, they fit best.

"preferred grips for a square butt Redhawk?"
one of the wonderful things about revolvers v autos is that grip/grip shapes are almost infinite in choice..
my original grips were waaay to small for my hand - "back in the day" the pach presentations grips were almost "goldilocks" and i have had the same (although showing a bit of age) since just after i bought the gun over 30 years back..
those grips are still "findable" online.
there are several handmade grips that can be had, a quick look at herretts, badger or altamont would be good starts..
