Sooner or later someone will offer custom turned brass at a premium.

I had a 500 WE cylinder made for my FA 50AE a couple of years ago. I have some 50 WE brass but I would like a few more if ever available.

What does someone, like Starline say ? If enough people ask.. Who has made it to date ? Considering you cant buy 38 special ammo now and I think it took like a 10,000 case order or so to get something made. You would be better off having a JRH cylinder made, cutting off and turning rims on 500 S&W cases. ...I believe when Dixie had the first run of .41 Special brass made it was 55K minimum order and paid to have the case head stamp made...

Just a thought but get in touch with the die company CH4D www.ch4d.com They make dies to convert '06 to 240 weatherby by forming a belt. There might be a similar case that would work the same for the 500WE.

I don't have a dog in the hunt. If I did, if there is a FA forum, owners club, etc.. How many 500WE were made ? Bet enough were made to find 20 or so willing to split a brass order. On this one forum, you can find that many to buy a mold.

Can you swage a ring on jrh brass for headspace? There was a gentleman on one of the other forums who swaged some metric brass to form a belt. Saw a photo of the shell but never heard any more....

As already mentioned, the 500 WE was a reaction to a feud within the custom builders community.
Not going to get involved in the matter. But, this is what happens when a manufacturer puts shooters last.
There may be more brass and it might be part of history. Time alone will tell...

On this one forum, you can find that many to buy a mold. A group brass buy - to overcome the 10,000 piece minimum threshold, is a novel idea. I'm thinking there may be additional manufacturer concerns though. I've been watching Starline's website (for .480 brass availability) for about 10 months now, & have seen very few changes in caliber availability.

Can someone take belt, case head dimensions and post them, please. Or tell me where I can find them, I’m curious.
