Has excellent reviews on RKGuns website, I was mainly focused on animal feed while there last evening, but I'm thinking a return trip is in order for this weekend...

Well I’m glad you posted it, I thought it might have been a new model. I’ve been half way looking for a 10mm GI, thinking I would get one if they ever released one. From what I can gather these have been around for a couplafew years now, but seem to be only available from RK. This model isn’t listed anywhere else not even Rock Island’s website. Not sure if it’s a limited edition type or only made for them?

Asa, I believe this one is a Rural King exclusive. Much like some of the other firearms distributors, RK has guns made just for sale from them.

I'd buy one and never bat an eye!!! I snagged two when I found out I could order them online. Didn’t know that was available, thought it was a store front only. Figured with two I got a 50/50 at a goodun.

$410 at the local Rural King, looks pretty nice for the money...Anyone here have one or shot one? Not that exact one, but a few years ago, I got an all steel RIA Officer's Model variant in 45 ACP and it was one of the best/nicest 1911s I ever bought. I tore it down before I shot it, to clean it and remove any obvious burrs, but the tear-down was pointless. If I ever buy a 1911 again, it will be a RIA.
It shot very well and was utterly reliable as well.
...thinking about it, including a genuine Colt aluminum-framed Commander and an early Kimber "Custom Target," (omitting all lesser variants), the RIA was THE nicest 1911 I ever bought.

Arrived today, had just enough time after work to fill out papers and get delayed. Unless I get a green flag, I won’t be in them until Wednesday. Didn’t get a real good look at the finish, they were drippin with oil, my dealer said they like to send them “wet”. I can imagine coming out of such a tropical origin. Actions felt very smooth, but I only have experience with a couple of Springfields. Mainspring feels a little light, have Flat bottom firing pin stops to put in them, will try them out before changing springs. I can deal with the delay, I have an Uberti 38-40 that should be here then as well, pick em all up in one swoop. Guess that means I’ll be spending the weekend reloading to prepare for next weekend
