I caught the 1911 bug ,must have slipped in with the COVID stuff lol Was thinking .45 but I have 2 9mm and stash of 9mm with no .45. So to me 9mm makes sense. Saw the 1911 RIA at the local shop with matt finish and man looks good . So looking for anyone who has or used RIA guns any cal. on fit ,finish reliability etc The price is real good and not planning on it as a CCW, I use my Shield 999.9% of the time
Thanks
Rich

THE NUMBER ONE PRODUCER OF 1911s IS THE PHILLIPINES. RIA IMPORTS THEIR 1911s FROM THEM. GOOD QUALITY. REASONABLE PRICE. I HAVE LONG EXPERIENCE WITH THEM IN 9MM, .45 ACP, AND .22TCM. GOOD STUFF.

Thanks again great to get first hand info. Do you know if the 9mm 1911 RIA fits the 1911 .45 holster ?

Thanks again great to get first hand info. Do you know if the 9mm 1911 RIA fits the 1911 .45 holster ? Externally, they are the same. I'll add that I bought their 10mm and 40 S&W 1911s. They are exceptional guns for the money.

I bought a RIA 1911 Officer's Model a few years ago, maybe less than ten. It was cheap and I was very skeptical about what I was going to get, but I was curious.
It was one of the best 1911s (or 45 Autos in general) I ever owned. I tore it all down to tune and tweak and the insides were clean, nicely machined and just really nice. The ONLY failure I had was a failure to go into battery with some loads I'd done for another 1911 with a 200 grain SWC seated slightly "long" to please the other gun. I seated the bullets to the max OAL and tried again - not another failure thereafter.
It was a very nice gun. The price was in no way indicative of what I got.
