Ordered a .44 Special, I don,t remember, who but a couple years ago, when i joined this site somebody told me i was not a revolver nut till i had a 41 mag and a 44 Special, Well when the box gets to the Hock shop near my home i am as loony as the rest of you. i have 2 .41 mags, and will soon have a 4.625 in Blue steel Bisley in 44 special. I am pretty excited about this, i ordered 200 starline cases too. As for loads i plan for 3, a light bullet load of say a 200 grain Jacketed HP for Predators and such , a Soft bullet load that will about duplicate the factory stuff, And a stiff load with a 240 grain cast, I will eventually have this one worked over by a top smith , and have a fine chunk of leather to pack it in...tj

They’ll convince you you’re never properly equipped. “Let’s see, it’s Tuesday morning, partly cloudy, 55 degrees with a slight breeze from the southeast. What gun do I need to walk to the mailbox? (I’m wearing khakis). Obviously I need my custom 41 special built on a Bisley Single-Six (with Ronnie Wells brass grip frame, and Fermin’s front sight). Of course that’s obvious but what bullet weight and cast using what mold? I guess I’ll check the mail tomorrow.😁

Only 1 44 Special, such as Rookie. Not a real loony until you have at least a baker's dozen or so.

A dozen 44 Specials ! Unless i learn to drive several trucks at a time, thats out of the Question , but the fact that i might have a dozen revolvers Must mean a couple loose screws !, As a truck driver once i run out of fingers, it gets confusing, unless i take off my shoes. I have 4 rimfires, 2 .327s , 1 .357 , need another, 2 ,41s 2 .44s 1 .45 and another on the way, So when you count the One at reeders and the one on the way from Bud,s i am off to a decent start. Thats 13 and all are good guns !There is one in the heard thats going away, I just cant get comfortable with my 4' SP 101 in .327. i will turn it into something i like better !

I lurked on here for awhile before joining, then posting. So much info and knowledge here. Then I went out and bought a Blackhawk convertible in 45 colt / 45 acp and a Tom Threepersons holster for El Paso saddlery And now I have a flattop bisley 44 special Next I need a good rimfire to add to the stable Not near as bad as the rest of you but I getting there
I asked a question about holsters and was overwhelmed with the responses. Took the advice I received and ordered the three persons shuck. Take these fellows advice and you can’t go wrong. Maybe broke but on the right path.
7.5 grns of unique over a 255 gr GT Keith boolit in that special out my 4 5/8” flattop gets me right around 930 FPS. Plenty of omph to take care of anything I need

Shot a couple of my 44 specials today. I resisted the 44 special for many years. I am a 44 mag freak. Have had to many to count. Never saw the need for a special. Took me a while but I did come around. 44 special is special for sure. I get it now.

44spl is my other favorite next to the 45 colt, tough choice between the two. My most recent 44spl is a 3 3/4” New Vaquero that shoots great. Im not running Unique but Ive kinda settled on Power Pistol. My other 44spl is a 5 1/2” Flat Top Bisley. Both are great guns!

Guess I am way behind. I only have 3 41s, 1 44sp (charter arms bulldog), 4 357s, 1 45acp, and 2 9mms.
Just not cool enough.

Some where around 950fps plus or minus 30fps. 3" to 7.5". Unique is something you stockpile when plentiful as it is the first to go in a shortage. I on the other hand ran out of Power Pistol the other day. I went into the other room and checked in my cabinet only to find all I had was 2 lbs of Unique and 1 of 2400. I keep only the open bottles close to my press. I guess if I run low on Alliant I'll have to open the 3lb jug of W231............

Good on you for your 44 Special purchase. I recieved my 4 5/8" SS Bisley a few weeks back. I had no intention of getting one either, but an OM Super slipped through my hands and I already had "permission" to get a new handgun. I like to have permission for about every 3rd or 4th gun so I don't look completely dishonest. I'll never know if she knows I have more guns than I have talked about and I'll never ask, so it'll have to remain a mystery to me...
