Was talking guns today with Dick. I knew he was going bear hunting with Mark Hamilton next week, so I asked if they had met before and Dick said no, just talked on phone. I wished the two of them to have a safe and fun trip. He says “ We will, I’m a fun guy to be around “ We both had a long laugh 👍 Let is know how it went Mark.

I would love to hear all about it! The firearms, the hunt, campfire chatter, all of it. Griz and Moose are the only two big game in the lower 48 I haven't gone after.
Good luck and God speed.

Well, Dick is known to many of us as a "straight shooter" and he isn't lying about being a fun guy! I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Mark,, but if you can't have fun around Dick,, well,,, then you are the reason,,, not Dick! And I respect Ken enough to accept his appraisal of Mark,, so it WILL be a fun time!
Like x101airborne,, I look forward to the stories afterwards!

Fowler,
Dick made me sign three contracts witnessed by notary public -- stating I must use a revolver. Most people couldn't read the fine print at the bottom however -- "if said bear is beyond 125 yards, a single-shot may/shall be employed."

Don't be alarmed if Dick starts running after one of them bears. He likes to pinch them in the ribs to be sure they are fat enough to harvest....

I didn't know Sal was going public with my little joke! I think any hunt is what you make of it but although I've never hunted with Mark I'm sure it will be a fantastic time. When I invite someone hunting I very seldom ever shoot, I'm just along to enjoy the trip & make sure they have a great time & many on here have gave me some wonderful experiences just by watching them shoot & have a fun hunt that I get to do all the time. Ken O'Neil, one of my dearest friends almost melted his barrel down at a place he nicknamed "Rock chuck Central", Russell Cottle, right after a tragic loss spent several fun days cruising & shooting several different six guns. Mike Barranti cut the Rock chuck population in half one time with some fine shooting. Tank Hoover took his first revolver elk as did good buddy Glenn Swaggart. Old friend Tyrone also got an handgun elk on that trip. Many, many others have joined me for Chucks, Ground Squirrels, etc. But in the end I had more fun that anyone seeing good friends have a great time in my 200,000+ back yard. This is all public land & so far I've never invited anyone who has given away any of my secret spots, good friends are like that.
Some even got to meet the infamous Callshot (Steve) who is my long time side kick & revolver moose slayer supreme! Mark will bring 2 guns & use what he wants, I make no rules except that we eat well!! If the weather gives us any break at all he will get a bear....no pressure Mark!

I haven’t had to sign any agreements disclosing our hunting areas. I don’t let anyone know where to pick huckleberries either. They are up on “No Tellem Crick”. I haven’t met Mark either but would like to someday. Hope you too have fun hunting while I’m isolated in my reloading room. Steve

One of my most anticipated then disappointing hunts was planned with Dick. We put in for spring bear and I was stoked! That is until the draw results came in and we weren’t drawn! Stoked turned to stroked by the draw! Have fun Mark and take a spare pair of pants about two inches bigger in the waist for the ride home!
