My three 83's all have the trigger job and stops. The only one I bought new (357 Mag) didn't have either when purchased. I guess you can say I didn't look too hard at the end of the box. After shooting it 2 or 3 times, it was boxed up and sent back for the work.
The trigger pull of the 357 compared to my 44 (trigger job and stop already done) was just too different for my liking. Now all are close enough to where I can go from one to the other and they feel the same.
Cheaper to go ahead and get it done now than shipping it later. Especially considering you have mentioned sending it somewhere later for the work. I don't know why every revolver leaving the factory doesn't have the lighter trigger.
My 454 is a 7.5" Magnaported and unless I really pour the H110 to it, I don't really see much of a benefit to the porting. My 44 is also a 7.5" and not ported. I wouldn't spend the money to get it done on the 44 as it is a baby doll even with hot loaded 290 grain LFNGC bullets.
As you know, it's your money and toy, so do as you wish. Regardless, I know it will be a very enjoyable revolver!

Well again, thanks for all the ideas and recommendations.
Definitely not gonna have the 41 mag magnaported, I’m just considering having them do an action job since it’s so smooth. Im hoping this is a real pussycat to shoot since it’s a smaller magnum on the full size 83.
Brass and leupold mount came in today. Dies should be on there way. Still need to get Burris scope order and some A frames and xtp coming.
Thanks again.

Like I stated in an earlier post, I wish you had not brought this up because I have looked (more than once) at available 83's in 41 Magnum. Unfortunately for me, there is one that fits my tastes and my willpower isn't too strong on not buying more toys!

Smallest I want in the 83 is the .44Mag. So for something a bit "less", I'd probably want a .44Spl model 97 loaded with something Elmer Keith would be proud of.

I considered the 44 a lot when I ordered but what pushed me over the edge was the pictures Mr .James had posted. And then seeing that it was the most accurate gun someone like Mr Taffin had shot spoke a lot. Plus I wanted something smaller. I live in Oklahoma and haven’t hunted out of state very much at all and it doesn’t take a 500 WE to take a whitetail or a hog around here. I own a 6” 500 WE so I’m not knocking it. Just wanted something that didn’t rattle my fillings to hunt with. Plus my 9 yo son is hunting with me now and thought it might not be as loud and concussive. And I wanted a new gun. And in the end that’s what won out. I’m almost a whole week into the 5 week wait.
